Monday’s Game 4 between the Celtics and Pacers leaves us with Single-Game contests on DraftKings and FanDuel. The lineup construction is a bit different compared to the typical DFS slate as these include a 1.5x multiplier Captain's spot on DraftKings that carries elevated salaries for each player, and MVP (2x), STAR (1.5x), and PRO (1.2x) spots on FanDuel, where player's salaries are the same regardless of roster spot.
The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available. But it's always really important to have a game plan, and the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. Today's NBA DFS Core Picks (Captain/MVP/STAR)
Jayson Tatum had his best performance of the series in Game 3, recording 36 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists, and two blocks across 44 minutes. It marked the sixth straight game in which he logged at least 42 minutes. During that span, he averaged 31.0 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists. His floor is as high as any player in this game.

Jaylen Brown has scored at least 24 points in all three games against the Pacers, shooting a combined 52.3 percent from the field. After shooting 49.9 percent from the field during the regular season, he has shot 54.5 percent during the entirety of the Celtics’ playoff run. As they look to advance to the finals, look for Brown to provide another steady stat line.
Tyrese Haliburton (hamstring) is listed as questionable after sitting out Game 3. The Pacers aren’t going to take any chances with their star young point guard, especially being down 0-3 in the series. With him out in Game 3, Pascal Siakam produced 22 points, three rebounds, and six assists. While that was a somewhat disappointing state line by his standards, it marked his sixth straight game with at least 20 points. It would seem like Haliburton will remain sidelined, which would likely leave Siakam with a hefty usage rate.
Top Captain's Spot/MVP Plays:
- Jayson Tatum, BOS at IND – SF/PF ($18,000 DK; $17,000 FD)
- Jaylen Brown, BOS at IND – SG/SF ($14,700 DK; $14,000 FD)
- Pascal Siakam, IND vs. BOS – SF/PF ($13,800 DK; $13,500 FD)
ALSO CONSIDER: Derrick White, BOS at IND – PG/SG ($11,700 DK; $11,500 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks (Utility/PRO)
Despite Haliburton being out, the Pacers almost won Game 3. They were led by Andrew Nembhard, who posted 32 points, four rebounds, and nine assists. He nailed four three-pointers and shot 12-for-21 from the field. He was also efficient during the regular season, shooting 49.8 percent from the field. Even if Haliburton is out, it’s difficult to ask Nembhard to score 30 points again. However, he should still have considerable upside.
T.J. McConnell remained a member of the second unit despite Haliburton being out for Game 3. He did log 29 minutes, which was the most that he played during the Pacers’ playoff run. The result was a juicy stat line of 23 points, nine rebounds, and six assists. With more minutes likely coming his way again, he might be the top-value option for this slate.

Kristaps Porzingis (calf) has been ruled out for Game 4, leaving the Celtics without their best interior defensive presence. While Obi Toppin scored just four points in Game 3, he had recorded at least 11 points in both of the first two games. With a clear path to at least 20 minutes, he has the potential to provide value.
Top Utility/PRO Plays:
- Andrew Nembhard, IND vs. BOS – PG/SG ($6,200 DK; $10,000 FD)
- T.J. McConnell, IND vs. BOS – SF/PF ($6,000 DK; $9,500 FD)
- Obi Toppin, IND vs. BOS – PF/C ($4,000 DK; $8,000 FD)
ALSO CONSIDER: Payton Pritchard – PG ($3,600 DK; $7,000 FD)
Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids
- I’m a little leery about rolling with Jrue Holiday. He battled an illness in Game 3 and is listed as questionable for Monday with that same illness. If the Celtics race out to a big lead early, we might not see much of him in the fourth quarter.
My Favorite NBA DFS Picks for Today
Here is where I leave you with some of my favorites.
- My favorite overall play on the slate: Jayson Tatum
- My favorite CASH play on the slate: Pascal Siakam
