Kevin Luchansky highlights the top NBA DFS lineup picks for 3/9/16, as well as a couple of sleepers to keep in mind while building your roster on FanDuel.

Tonight's nine game slate doesn't have a ton of appealing games. It's not a terrible slate, but there isn't a lot that jumps off the page. On the bright side, you may not have to worry as much about ownership percentages in tournament formats.

While there isn't that much disparity between the high projected scoring games and the lower ones, a few games I've got my eye on are Pelicans at Hornets (210), Knicks at Suns (208), and my personal favorite - Clippers at Thunder (215.5). The Cleveland at Sacramento game looks intriguing as well, but as of this time I don't have an over/under or spread to report.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy NBA lineup picks for FanDuel on 3/2/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players, to mid-priced options, and value plays on FanDuel.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Jrue Holiday (at CHR, $8,000)

My projection models give Westbrook the slight edge over Holiday and every other PG tonight in projected points, but the gap is very slim and I think Holiday has the easier matchup. I definitely don't mind the fact I can save $2,600 here and spend that cash elsewhere, either. Holiday has been playing extremely well lately and I think we can expect that trend to continue tonight in what should be a high scoring, close contest.

Kyrie Irving (at SAC, $7,200)

Irving's most recent performances have been pretty on par with his salary implied projections, as he's hovered right around value. The margin hasn't been great - just 1.88 points over per game - but he has managed to exceed value in seven of his last 10 games. Curiously, his price has dropped $500 in that same period. The time is right to jump on a more cost efficient Irving in a matchup that I really like for him. The game should be high scoring and relatively faced paced for what the Cavs are used to, and the Kings give up the second most points to opposing point guards of the 18 teams lacing up tonight.

Arron Afflalo (at PHX, $5,000)

Afflalo seems to be getting back into the swing of things this month after a pretty brutal finish to the month of February. He's exceeded his implied total in four of his last four games and his matchup against the Suns tonight is ripe to exploit. With Carmelo playing heavy minutes the past five games, look for Afflalo to be the beneficiary of extra scoring opportunities against a weak defensive team that plays at a fast pace.

Also Consider: J.R. Smith (at SAC, $4,500)

Value Play: Ronnie Price (vs NYK, $3,900)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

I think the collective forward group is the weakest of tonight's options. Outside of the Draymond pick, I'll do my best to include value plays, as I'm not confident in spending up for the top line guys and would rather take my chances on middle tier types with appealing matchups.

Robert Covington (vs HOU, $5,700)

As it stands right now, and things could change by gametime, my projection models aren't in love with Covington's matchup entirely. I guess it would be fair to call this one a little bit of a hunch play, but the Rockets do allow more points to opposing small forwards than any team in the league and at this price, he's certainly a bargain. In his last 10, Covington has exceeded value in six, by an average of 5.94 points. I expect him to be in that range or better tonight against the paltry Houston defense.

Draymond Green (vs UTA, $8,200)

The only statistical area I'm not pleased with regarding Green's projections and matchup is that the Jazz can be pretty stingy when it comes to allowing fantasy points to opposing big men. Luckily for you and me, Draymond isn't like most typical big mean - he fills up the stat sheet in so many ways - and I think he is pretty matchup proof because of the assist totals he racks up when his shot isn't there. The price is a little steep, but it has dropped $200 in the past few days and due to his minute totals, I'm fairly confident in him exceeding value tonight.

Value Play: Tobias Harris (at DAL, $5,800)

Also Consider: Trevor Ariza (at PHI, $6,300)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Dwight Howard (at PHI, $7,900)

Dwight's most recent fantasy performance charts have quite the peaks and valleys, but he has shown promise and his ceiling is nearly as high as any other center. Even despite those valleys, Mr. Howard has exceeded his price implied value in seven of his last 10 games, by an average of 4.05 points per. In that same stretch, his price hasn't changed at all and I think he's got a great opportunity to blow past value against the Sixers, as they allow more fantasy points per game to opposing centers than any other team in play tonight.

Also Consider: Zaza Pachulia (vs DET, $4,700)
