FanDuel DFS Guards
Ish Smith (at WAS, $6,700)
Ish Smith has been up and down for a few games now, so he is only usable in tournaments currently. In his last four games, he has two games over 35 fantasy points and two games under 22 fantasy points. Against the Golden State Warriors, he posted over 40 fantasy points, as he just missed a double-double in 35 minutes of action. His price tag has come down a tiny bit since he first started dominating for the Sixers. He should be able to play well against John Wall and the Washington Wizards tonight. The Wizards love to push the pace of the game, and Wall focuses more on scoring than he does defense. Smith can be frustrating, but he is worth it in deeper tournaments.
Wayne Ellington (vs SAC, $3,900)
Wayne Ellington has been solid of recent, and his price tag is still low enough to continue to use him in both 50/50 contests and tournaments. In his last six games, Ellington has over 20 fantasy points in three of them. He is playing right around 30 minutes per game for the Brooklyn Nets, so he is definitely worth a look in tournaments. At under $4,000, he only needs 20 fantasy points to hit value, so he is hitting value more often than not right now. He should continue to play well against the Sacramento Kings tonight, as they are the worst team in the league against opposing shooting guards. Ellington has shown flashes of upside in his last couple of games. In one game, he posted over 15 fantasy points at halftime. Unfortunately, he struggled in the second half. Ellington is likely to at least hit value tonight, and he has the potential to exceed value by quite a bit as well.
FanDuel DFS Forwards
Thaddeus Young (vs SAC, $6,400)
Thaddeus Young has been solid of recent. So far this season, Young has shown flashes of huge upside, but he has been consistent for the most part. In his last four games, he has over 30 fantasy points in three of them. He only played 25 minutes against the Detroit Pistons, posting only 15 fantasy points. In the other three games, he played over 35 minutes on average. He should play big minutes tonight against the Sacramento Kings, and the Kings are horrible at defending the power forward position. Like Ellington, Young can be used in both 50/50 contests and tournaments. DeMarcus Cousins is going to score early and often, but he is also going to ignore Young while playing defense. Young should see plenty of open opportunities.
Tristan Thompson (vs BOS, $4,600)
Tristan Thompson did not look good at all in his last game, which was against the Charlotte Hornets. He posted under 10 fantasy points in 34 minutes of action. However, prior to that, Thompson has been playing extremely well. He has over 20 fantasy points in four of his last five games, ignoring the game against the Hornets. Against the Minnesota Timberwolves, he posted over 35 fantasy points in 34 minutes of action. Thompson is not a very significant part of the Cleveland Cavaliers offense, but he gets enough minutes to be effective. He is a solid rebounder, and he has the potential to double-double every time he takes the court. The Celtics are not good on defense, so Thompson is definitely one of the better value plays at the forward position tonight.
FanDuel DFS Centers
Nikola Jokic (vs CHI, $6,200)
Nikola Jokic looked horrendous against the Utah Jazz, especially in the first half. He did salvage 25.2 fantasy points in 29 minutes, but in the first half, he only posted around 10 fantasy points. Prior to that, he had over 35 fantasy points in three straight games. Even more impressively, he posted almost 50 fantasy points against the Toronto Raptors in only 30 minutes of action. How can one say no to a player that scores 27 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, especially if that player's price tag is under $6,500? It is impossible. Use him in all formats and leagues tonight.
