NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/25/16): FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

I'm not normally too enthusiastic about Thursday DFS slates, but the six gamer we have on deck tonight is really appealing. Four of the contests have over/unders set higher than 217 - which is pretty remarkable. The only game I'm going to actively avoid is the San Antonio - Utah game, which should be a very slow paced matchup.

The most appealing matchup of the night, in my opinion, is the Rockets visiting the Blazers. Among those backcourts you have three offensively gifted guys in Damian Lillard, James Harden and CJ McCollum, and what's most attractive about them facing off is that none are too interested in playing any defense.

Let's get to the selections.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Jrue Holiday (vs OKC, $7,700)

With price, matchup and recent play considered, I think Jrue might be my favorite play of the night. He faces an OKC team that moves at a fast clip, which certainly suits Holiday's style, and the Thunder are allowing the second most fantasy points to opposing point guards of any team in play tonight. Over his last 10 games, Holiday has exceeded value in nine of them, by a very impressive average of 9.38 points. He's a very strong cash play in my opinion and certainly warrants tournament exposure.

Damian Lillard (vs HOU, $9,500)

If only Dame could be All-Star snubbed on a weekly basis, he'd be in my lineup every damn day. The Weber State product has been on a tear, and his backcourt running mate, CJ McCollum, hasn't been too shabby either. In addition to exceeding his price implied value in eight of his last 10 games - by an average of more than eight points per game, mind you - Lillard faces off against one of the most atrocious, lackadaisical defenses in the league tonight in the Rockets.

James Harden (at POR, $10,900)

Similar to the way I'm salivating over the idea of rostering Portland's backcourt, I'm excited for the matchup on the Houston side as well - offensively speaking of course. No team in the NBA surrenders more fantasy points to opposing two-guards than Portland does, and with that in mind, I'll pay the five-figure price to get Harden in my lineup tonight. There are a few other ways you can go in cash games, but I particularly like Harden in tournaments.

Also Consider: Victor Oladipo (vs GS, $6,900) and CJ McCollum (vs HOU, $7,600)

Value Play: Patrick Beverly (at POR, $4,800)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Maurice Harkless (vs HOU, $4,400)

I've had the opportunity to watch the Blazers a lot lately, and it's been fun to watch Harkless mature offensively, now that he's being given the opportunity. His production still varies a bit, but when he's on the court for 25+ minutes, he's been hitting and exceeding value with ease. At this price, he's a steal tonight, especially when you consider how poor Houston is on the defensive end. Harkless has been attacking the glass more lately as well, and the rebounds certainly help to create a higher fantasy floor. I think he'll continue that trend this evening.

Anthony Davis (vs OKC, $10,200)

I've been wary of rostering The Brow too often this year as it seems like I receive a "Anthony Davis heads to the locker room with an apparent injury early in the second quarter" every time I do. the good news now - well, in addition to the fact he's averaging north of 60 fantasy points per game over his last three games - is that he's healthy, rested and has an absolutely incredible matchup tonight against the Thunder. The price is a little steep, but his ceiling is too much to pass up, especially in tournament formats.

Also Consider: Thaddeus Young (at PHX, $6,700)

Value Play: Andre Iguodala (at ORL, $4,100)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Alex Len (vs BKN, $4,900)

The crop of guys eligible at center tonight is really, really disappointing. I think Vucevic could turn in a nice game, but Golden State's interior defense has been pretty strong and that's quite the price to pay for a guy with a sub-par matchup. Len, although he's currently listed as questionable, is the only one who really stood out enough that I thought deserved mentioning. Len's minutes per game are all over the place and don't seem to have any consistency, but even despite that he's been putting up strong fantasy numbers - especially for the low price it costs to add him to your roster. Tonight's matchup against Brooklyn is a favorable one for the big man, as they're allowing the most points to opposing centers of any of the teams in action Thursday.

Also Consider: Tyson Chandler (vs BKN, $4,500) and Nikola Vucevic (vs GS, $8,500)
