BALLER MOVE: Draft Target in Later Rounds / Waiver Wire Stash
ANALYSIS: A name to keep in mind going forward is Nathan Eovaldi. Right now Eovaldi is in the fourth slot of the Yankees rotation, opening up plenty of opportunity to thrive. Owned in just 17% of leagues, Eovaldi is being criminally undervalued in relation to his potential fantasy numbers.
His numbers in the past haven’t always been consistent, but this spring he’s out to prove that he's here to stay. Through three spring training games, Eovaldi has posted a 0.66 ERA and a 14:0 K:BB ratio in a little more than 13 innings. He's even drawn early praise from Nolan Ryan, claiming his best is yet to come. The Yankees are low on pitchers right now and will need to rely on him to shoulder quite a bit of innings. If he can hold up, this is a terrific opportunity for him to solidify himself.
Eovaldi is a pitcher to target in the later rounds. With an ADP currently around 288, the price is right especially if you have a need for pitching depth. Be sure to watch his first few starts in the Bronx, as they will likely tell whether or not his stellar spring will translate to the regular season. He could be a very valuable fantasy asset this year, and should be worth an early waiver wire add if he's still available a few days from n ow.
