BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 3% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: Rays first baseman Nathaniel Lowe's first crack at the big leagues did not go so hot earlier this season. He slashed a respectable .263/.310/.316 with five runs scored in 42 plate appearances, but did not record a single home run - only adding two doubles and one RBI. His 7.1% walk rate was solid, but his 26.2% strikeout rate proved he needed some more seasoning in the minors, despite posting video game numbers at Triple-A.
So Lowe went back to the minors and continued to carve it up, finally getting his second chance early in July when the team recalled him with Ji-Man Choi and Brandon Lowe both on the injured list.
It's not clear if Lowe is here to stay, or if he will be sent back down when everyone is healthy - which is why fantasy owners are not rushing to snag him - but he did hit his first big league home run in his second game back.
If he can be anything close to the hitter he was in Triple-A (.290/.419/.519 with 12 home runs) he's a great fantasy asset in 12+ team leagues.
