BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 13% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Nate Lowe has taken over regular first base duties for the team following the injury to Ji-Man Choi (hamstring), who is out for the rest of the regular season.
Lowe made his 2020 debut on September 2. Through his first 13 games this year, Lowe slashed .278/.395/.583 with three home runs, nine RBI and seven runs. Lowe showed elite power potential in the minors. He hit 27 home runs over 130 games in 2018. Last year, he spent 50 games in the majors and hit seven home runs, but struggled with strikeouts, registering a 30% strikeout rate. That trend has continued this year as he had a strikeout rate of 39.5% over his first 13 games of 2020.
Add Lowe if you need a power boost during the week's final stretch and as long as you can live with the high strikeout numbers. He should play just about every day and hit somewhere in the middle-third of a productive Rays lineup the rest of the way.
