The NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Bristol this weekend to open the Round of 12 with the Food City 300. 12 drivers remain alive in the race to win the Xfinity Series championship. Who'll get off to a strong start this weekend?
Last year, Noah Gragson won this race, with Brandon Jones finishing second. Justin Allgaier led 148 laps, more than any other driver, but finished ninth. It was a bit of a strange finishing order, as Stefan Parsons had a top-10 finish, while Bayley Currey finished 11th.

Updates
I mention below fading Austin Hill, but a 26th-place starting spot gives him a lot of place differential upside, so he's now one of my favorite plays. I also love Justin Allgaier coming from 10th.
Sheldon Creed starting 21st is a good mid-range PD play. Dale Jr. starting 15th is solid. Brett Moffitt starting 36th is almost a must play, as is Jeb Burton from 38th, Kaz Grala from 31st, and Connor Mosack from 29th.
Meanwhile, the two APR drivers I mention at the end of the article, Rajah Caruth and Jeffrey Earnhardt, both start top 25. I'm inclined to fade them now.
How The Top Drivers Stack Up
Seven drivers are priced at $10,000 or more on DraftKings.
Justin Allgaier ($11,500): Allgaier, who won here way back in 2010, comes into this race with three top 10s in a row at Bristol. The fact he hasn't won here in over a decade is shocking when you look at his production. He's led 92 or more laps in six straight Bristol races. He should be the favorite.
John Hunter Nemechek ($11,300): Nemechek, who is set to move to the Cup Series next year with Legacy Motor Club, has a good track record at Bristol, with a pair of top fives in Xfinity here in 2019 plus six Truck Series top 10s at the track.
Josh Berry ($11,000): Berry finished seventh here last year. He was third at Richmond and fourth at Martinsville this season. Should be competitive.
Cole Custer ($10,700): While he hasn't won at Bristol, Custer has two poles here and four top 10s in six Xfinity Series starts. In 2019, he led 25 laps and finished third.
Austin Hill ($10,400): Hill finished third here last year, but he struggled in the Truck Series, with a best finish of 10th and four finishes outside the top 20. I don't anticipate having a lot of shares of Hill in DFS this weekend.
Sam Mayer ($10,200): Mayer has finished in the top 10 in both of his Xfinity Series starts here. In 2021, he led 49 laps and finished ninth. He's also won here in the Truck Series.
Trevor Bayne ($10,000): Bayne returns to the 19 car for his second start of the season. This is a fast car and Bayne's talented, but I have a feeling this price is just too high.

Mid-Range Plays
Brandon Jones ($9,000): Jones has run really well at Bristol lately, with four consecutive top 10s here, as well as six consecutive top 15s. He's struggled in 2023, but he should be a threat this weekend.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. ($8,800): Look who's back! Dale Jr. jumps back into Xfinity for his first race of the season. He's made one Xfinity start per season for five straight years but hasn't had a top 10 in the last two seasons. Still, he's Dale Jr. in a JRM car. He's won at Bristol in Cup. He's won at Bristol in Xfinity. He should run a solid race.
Riley Herbst ($8,000): Bristol has been a good track for Herbst, as he's posted top-five finishes in his last two races here. the only time he didn't get a top 10 here was the 2020 spring race, when he led four laps but crashed out late.
Derek Kraus ($7,800): Kraus is back to make his sixth Xfinity Series start of the year for Kaulig Racing. He has three top 10s and has finished with positive place differential in three races as well.
Potential Sleeper Options
Connor Mosack ($6,400): Mosack's had a pretty hit-or-miss season, but he's coming off a strong run at Kansas, where he finished 14th. He's had two top 15s in the last three races and looks to be improving right now.
Rajah Caruth ($5,300): Caruth had a really good run in last night's Truck Series race, finishing sixth and tying the best result he's had this season. His luck hasn't been quite as good in Xfinity as he has just one top 20, but that did come recently at Darlington.
Jeffrey Earnhardt ($5,000): Earnhardt hasn't had a great some for Alpha Prime, with an average finish of 25.6. But Bristol could be a bright spot for him, as he's had four top-15 finishes here in his Xfinity Seris career.
