The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is finally back in action this weekend. It's been a while since the last race for the series, which came way back on June 1 at Gateway, a race that saw Corey Heim end up in victory lane for the fourth time this season.
Despite the four wins, Heim trails Christian Eckes by 31 points in the race for the regular season title. Those two, plus Nick Sanchez, have really dominated this season, winning eight of the 12 races. The only other Craftsman Truck Series regular with a win is Rajah Caruth, who sits sixth in points with one victory. Can the rest of the field catch up to those three at Nashville this weekend?

Top Drivers
Note: The condensed schedule on Friday makes it tough, so all the thoughts below are before qualifying, and place differential comes into play. Feel free to ask me over on X if you have specific questions post-qualifying!
Corey Heim - $11.0k
Corey Heim’s future seems headed towards the Cup Series. Who could replace him at TRICON? https://t.co/mD8zJHxN7f
— Frontstretch (@Frontstretch) June 27, 2024
The next three names should be very familiar since it's the three drivers who have dominated the Truck Series in 2024. Heim leads the series with four wins on the season. He also led more laps here than anyone in 2023, pacing the field in last season's Rackley Roofing 200 for 57 laps before ultimately finishing fourth.
Christian Eckes - $10.7k
Christian Eckes has two wins this season and 11 top 10s through 12 races, with an average finish of 7.3. He's a major threat every weekend, though Nashville hasn't been his best track. In two starts here, Eckes has finishes of sixth and 23rd and has never led a lap. That's why I consider Heim my top play, but Eckes is too good to fade.
Nick Sanchez - $10.5k
Nick Sanchez isn't quite where the previous two are at, but he's not far behind. He comes into this race with seven consecutive top-10 finishes, including one win at Charlotte and four other top-five results in that span. He was third here last season, leading 37 laps. It wouldn't be a shock at all to see Sanchez in victory lane for a third time this season.
Clint Bowyer - $10.0K
Alright, let's break up the monotony here. Beyond the three drivers who've dominated this season, is there anyone else worth considering as a potential dominator this weekend?
Sure! While we don't have any Cup Series drivers in this field, we do have one former Cup Series driver as Clint Bowyer will race the Spire Motorsports No. 7 truck. There's a lot of risk here since Bowyer hasn't raced in any of NASCAR's top three series since 2020, but his experience should make it a smooth transition back into the Trucks. And it's not like Bowyer hasn't been racing, as he ran some SRX races last season.

Mid-Tier NASCAR Trucks DFS Lineup Options
Ben Rhodes - $9.0k
Ben Rhodes is off this year, with an average finish of just 15.4 this season. That's his worst mark since 2016. The defending series champion sits eighth in points with just four top 10s. But three of those have come in the past four races as Rhodes seems to finally be rounding into form, and now he heads to a track where he has three finishes of 12th or better in three career starts.
Tyler Ankrum - $8.5k
There is an extreme amount of damage to Tyler Ankrum's truck after he got T-boned by Thad Moffitt

Tyler Ankrum is quietly having his best season in the Truck Series, or at least his best season since 2020. Ankrum has three top fives already, equaling the best mark of his Truck Series career. He has top 10s in two of his three starts at Nashville, including an eighth-place finish in 2023.
Brenden Queen - $7.5k
Brenden Queen, better known in the racing world as Butterbean, is set to run his second Truck Series race of the season for Tricon Garage. His debut came at North Wilkesboro, where he started 26th and finished fourth. His lack of experience in the series worries me some, but if he starts 15th or worse, then I'll be hammering this play.
NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Sleeper Picks
Kaden Honeycutt - $6.9k
One of the most incredible battles I've seen in 2023 just happened at Southern National on @RacingAmerica Brenden Queen, Josh Berry, and Kaden Honeycutt were 3-wide for the $15,000 win with 15 to go. Pardon me for my at home call of the battle pic.twitter.com/Rq2MJblD3I
— Steven Blakesley (@StevenBlakesley) November 26, 2023
I can't believe Kaden Honeycutt is still this cheap on DraftKings, but I'm not going to complain about it. Honeycutt has made five starts this season in the Truck Series and has four top 10s with an average finish of 7.6. His worst result was a 12th at Bristol. Expect Honeycutt to run near the front all race.
Daniel Dye - $6.5k
Much like with Honeycutt, this price feels really low for Daniel Dye based on his 2024 production. He has four top 10s this season and an average finish of 15.5. Dye has three consecutive top 20s. Playing him depends on where he starts, but if we get Dye starting 15th or worse, he'll be a solid play.
Timmy Hill - $6.1k
It's always hard to predict place differential when we don't have a starting lineup in front of us, but Timmy Hill is likely to be a name that we talk about in that regard later this evening. Hill's average starting position this season is 27.0, while his average finish is 20.1. He's not out here contending for top 10s or anything, but he's keeping the truck clean and usually finishes better than where he started. At $6.1k, that's about what you can hope for.
