Sonny Gray, 1.5 Walks Allowed (LOWER)
Sonny Gray is facing the Detroit Tigers tonight at Comerica Park. Gray has had a solid season, with some ups and downs, but he appears to be rolling now. In his last three starts, Gray has three quality starts with one walk and 17 strikeouts in 19 innings. Since the beginning of July, the Tigers have the fifth-fewest walks against right-handed pitching. Gray should keep his hot streak going against Detroit.
Luke Weaver, 4.5 Strikeouts (LOWER)
Cincinnati Reds starter Luke Weaver is facing the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night. The 29-year-old righty is in his eighth major league season and owns the lowest K/9 of his career (7.28). Since the beginning of July, the Marlins have had the fifth-fewest strikeouts against right-handed pitching. Weaver has also recorded two or fewer strikeouts in four of his last six starts. Weaver has been far from good, and the Marlins should be able to make plenty of contact against him.
Myles Straw, 0.5 Singles (LOWER)
Myles Straw and the Cleveland Guardians are facing Yusei Kikuchi of the Toronto Blue Jays. Straw is a right-handed hitter batting .238 this season. In his career, Straw has a lower batting average and higher strikeout rate against left-handed pitching. On Tuesday, Straw faces Kikuchi, a lefty whom Straw has gone 1-f0r-9 (.111) against. The 28-year-old Guardians outfielder could struggle in this matchup.
Yonny Chirinos, 3.5 Strikeouts (HIGHER)
Yonny Chirinos is facing the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night. Since July 1, the Pirates have the fifth-most strikeouts against right-handed pitching. The Pirates also own the second-lowest batting average and third-lowest OPS in that span. In his last start on August 2, Chirinos racked up five strikeouts in five innings on 75 pitches against the Los Angeles Angels. This strikeout line is attainable if Chirinos' pitch count is at 75 pitches or higher.
Carlos Correa, 7.0 Fantasy Points (HIGHER)
Carlos Correa and the Minnesota Twins are facing off against Detroit Tigers starter Eduardo Rodriguez. Rodriguez has been one of the few bright spots for the Tigers this season, but he is not untouchable. In his career against Rodriguez, Correa is 6-for-13 with five singles, a double, an RBI, and five walks. With Correa consistently batting in the top third of the Twins' lineup, he should get plenty of opportunities to eclipse seven fantasy points in this contest.
Zack Gelof, 1.5 Batter Strikeouts (HIGHER)
Oakland Athletics prospect Zack Gelof has been one of the most productive bats on the team. Despite his offensive contributions, Gelof has a strikeout rate of 30% in the majors. Between 2022 and 2023 in the minor leagues, Gelof had strikeout rates of around 28% across Double-A and Triple-A. Gelof has also struck out multiple times in five of his last nine games. Gelof is facing Max Scherzer, who owns a K/9 of 10.29. It may be difficult for the young hitter to stay out of the strikeout column on Tuesday.
