Zack Wheeler, 1.5 Walks Allowed (LOWER)
Philadelphia Phillies starter Zack Wheeler faces the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday afternoon. In the past month, the Blue Jays are middle-of-the-pack in walk rate against right-handed pitching. Wheeler has the lowest BB/9 of his career this season and has allowed one or fewer walks in seven straight starts. The veteran pitcher should keep that streak going on Tuesday.
Masataka Yoshida, 0.5 Batter Strikeouts (LOWER)
Boston Red Sox outfielder Masataka Yoshida has been one of the best rookies in the MLB, but the 30-year-old is hardly new to the game. Playing professional baseball in Japan typically develops a contact-driven approach, and Yoshida is the prototypical Japanese hitter. Yoshida has an 84.4% contact rate and an 11.7% strikeout rate this season. Washington Nationals starter Josiah Gray averages less than a strikeout per inning, so Yoshida has a good chance of staying under this line.
Aaron Hicks, 0.5 Total Bases (LOWER)
When Baltimore Orioles outfielder Aaron Hicks first joined the team, he was absolutely on fire at the plate. Hicks was acquired for his defensive prowess amid several injuries for the Orioles, but his strong offensive output was the real story. Hicks has since cooled down tremendously, batting .236 and an xBA of .208. Hicks is facing San Diego Padres starter Michael Wacha on Tuesday. Hicks is 0-for-4 against Wacha in his career.
Nick Pivetta, 17.5 Pitching Outs (HIGHER)
Boston Red Sox starter Nick Pivetta has had an eventful season so far. After starting the year in the rotation, Pivetta was moved to the bullpen as a bulk reliever and has played his way back into the Red Sox rotation. In his last two starts, Pivetta has failed to reach six innings and allowed two walks in each. The Washington Nationals have been middle-of-the-pack in walk rate against right-handed pitching in the last month. If Pivetta can bring the walks down, he can stretch his outing to six or more innings.
Freddie Freeman, 1.5 Total Bases (HIGHER)
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman is one of the best hitters in baseball and has been for several years now. This season, Freeman is slashing .339/.417/.588 with 23 home runs, 43 doubles, 101 runs, and 83 RBI. Freeman is tied with Shohei Ohtani for the most extra-base hits in baseball. The 33-year-old lefty is also 2-for-6 with a home run and four RBI against Milwaukee Brewers starter Adrian Houser. Freeman will look to keep his strong season going on Tuesday.
Jack Suwinski, 1.5 Batter Strikeouts (HIGHER)
Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Jack Suwinski made his presence felt with several home runs early in the season. Suwinski has proven himself a prolific power bat as the season, and stats have stabilized. Suwinski is 83rd percentile or higher in average exit velocity, max exit velocity, barrel rate, xSLG, and HardHit%. Those strong power indicators come with an ugly 33.7% strikeout rate. Suwinski has struck out multiple times in five of his last seven games and likely will again on Tuesday.
