Last week, we launched a new MLB DFS piece here at RotoBaller that is specifically focused on saving you DFS salary when you go to build your daily fantasy baseball lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings tonight!
We will be hunting for bargains daily because nailing some value picks that produce is one of the best ways to build a winning DFS lineup. How else are you going to afford all of those expensive bats of the Dodgers in Pittsburgh?
This article will provide my top DFS value picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 6/5/2024. We aim for hitters who cost less than 4K on DraftKings and less than 3K on FanDuel. For pitchers, the general guideline is under 7K on DraftKings and under 8K on FanDuel. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for baseball and other sports here. Don't forget to monitor MLB injury news and today's MLB starting lineups!

MLB DFS Value Plays - Pitcher(s)
Joey Estes vs. SEA ($6.4K DraftKings; $6.8K FanDuel)
After a couple of bad games against the Rockies and Astros, Estes rebounded with a solid outing against the Rays last week. I like Estes here because the Mariners strike out more than your local frat boy at a high-end lounge. He fanned five Mariners in five innings in a win back on May 11. If he can grab another 20+ DraftKings points tonight at this price, we're on the way to green.
Jose Urena vs. DET ($6K DraftKings; $7.2K FanDuel)
Urena has massive home/road splits this season. He has a 1.35 ERA at home and a 5.61 ERA on the road. He only allowed two hits and a run the first time he met the Tigers. I prefer Urena on DK since strikeouts are weighted more on FD and he doesn't strike anyone out.
MLB DFS Value Plays - Infielders
Gavin Sheets, 1B/OF - CWS vs. Jameson Taillon ($3.4K DK; $2.9K FD)
Sheets has struggled this year, but he has still held his own against righties. He is hitting 105 points higher against right-handed pitching with four of his five homers. He hits four-seamers and changeups well, so if he can lay off the curve, Sheets could have a productive day. Taillon has good numbers because of an unsustainable 8.6% FB/HR rate (way below his career average of 12.2%) and a bloated 73.5% left on base. Regression is coming. It could be on a night ripe for hitters at Wrigley.
Brandon Lowe, 2B - TB vs. Braxton Garrett ($3.3K DK; $3K FD)
Lowe committed lefty-on-lefty crime last night against Jesus Luzardo in his first start against a southpaw this year. He homered and drove in five in the Rays' win. Lowe only had two hits in his first 20 at-bats returning from the IL at the end of May. Since then, he has had six hits in 17 tries with a homer and six RBI. I'm riding the hot hand again tonight.
Monster day at the dish for Rays 2B Brandon Lowe. 2-for-3 with a HR, 2B, 5 RBI…it’s only the 5th inning. If he gets hot like he can, he’s an X-factor in Tampa Bay. Streaky.

Ramon Urias, 2B/SS - BAL vs. Jose Berrios ($2.4K DK; $2.4K FD)
Urias is riding a five-game hitting streak. What makes that all the more impressive is that he didn't start two of those games. I'm not going to recommend starting a guy who isn't in the starting lineup, but Urias has homered twice in the last four games. Can the O's really hold his hot bat out of the lineup?

MLB DFS Value Plays - Outfielders
Miguel Andujar, OF - OAK vs. Logan Gilbert ($4K DK; $2.8K FD)
Andujar's season didn't begin until May 24, but he has hit two homers, scored six times, and driven in 12 runs in nine games. He's making up for lost time. Andujar is a low-owned GPP rocket on a hot streak. Gilbert has allowed 19 runs over his last five starts. He's not invincible, though many DFS players will treat him as such against Oakland.
Ian Happ, OF - CHC vs. Erick Fedde ($3.8K DK; $3.2K FD)
We'll bend the rules a bit on the FanDuel pricing for a guy who has four homers and 12 RBI in the last 10 games. Erick Fedde is having a renaissance season, but he has shown some wear with nine runs allowed in his last three starts. It's summer in Wrigley. These balls may as well be kids jumping on a trampoline instead of rawhide off a tree trunk.

Jesus Sanchez, OF - MIA vs. Zach Eflin ($3.2K DK; $2.9K FD)
Sanchez has homered twice in the last five games and gets a guy who last stood on a major league mound on May 18. Eflin's favorite pitch is the sinker, which Sanchez has hit .412 against this season. He has held his own against the rest of Eflin's pitches as well. It could be a rocky return for the veteran against Sanchez and Co.
