Earlier this week, we launched a new MLB DFS piece here at RotoBaller that is specifically focused on saving you DFS salary when you go to build your daily fantasy baseball lineups on FanDuel and DraftKings tonight!
We will be hunting for bargains daily because nailing some value picks that produce is one of the best ways to build a winning DFS lineup. How else are you going to afford all of those expensive Coors Field bats (or the Yankees in L.A. for that matter)?
This article will provide my top DFS value picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/29/2024. We aim for hitters who cost less than 4K on DraftKings and less than 3K on FanDuel. For pitchers, the general guideline is under 7K on DraftKings and under 8K on FanDuel. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for baseball and other sports here. Don't forget to monitor MLB injury news and today's MLB starting lineups!

MLB DFS Value Picks - Pitcher(s)
Ty Blach vs. CLE ($5K DraftKings; $5.9K FanDuel)
We're going all the way to the bottom of the barrel tonight. Why? Because Blach has defied logic and posted a 3.48 ERA in 20 2/3 innings at Coors Field this year compared to a 7.71 mark on the road. On top of that, Blach held the potent Phillies to two solo homers in 6 2/3 innings in his last start. Cleveland's offense is nowhere nearly as potent as Philly. Blach isn't going to net you much for strikeouts, but he has a good shot at double-digit points on DraftKings at a bargain price.
On FanDuel, Braves rookie Spencer Schwellenbach is expected to make his major league debut and he's below the price threshold (he's not on DK) against a middling Nationals team. Schwellenbach has been superb in the minors this year. He has 51 strikeouts in 45 innings across two levels and didn't allow a run in two starts for Double-A Rome. I'll roll with Schwellenbach at $7K on FanDuel instead.
If you're like me and hadn't heard of Spencer Schwellenbach:
- Mid-90s heater with low release
- Filthy SL
- 51 Ks in 45 IP in '24 minors
- Two starts of 17% SwStr in Double-AI'd spec add him. Starting for ATL on Wed.

MLB DFS Value Picks - Infielders
Gavin Sheets, 1B/OF - CWS vs. Alek Manoah ($3.4K DK; $2.9K FD)
Manoah has only made four starts in 2024 due to a shoulder issue and the splits are alarming. He hasn't allowed an earned run in 14 innings at home but has allowed 10 earned in two road starts. Even worse, he has allowed six unearned runs and five homers in four starts. Yikes. Oh, and the two teams that smoked him on the road? It was the Tigers and Nationals, both of whom are in the bottom third in runs scored this year.
Left-handed hitters hit all five homers that Manoah has allowed. I probably won't stack against Manoah, but Sheets is a great one-off play. He has a SLG over .400 against all four of Manoah's pitch types.
J.P. Crawford, SS - SEA vs. Justin Verlander ($3K DK; $2.6K FD)
Justin Verlander is going to the Hall of Fame. There's no doubt about that. However, don't let that cloud your judgment here. He's not striking out as many batters and he's not going as deep into games. Father Time is undefeated. Verlander is still holding his own at the age of 41 in his 19th season, but he's not the dominant pitcher that he once was.
Crawford is hitting a respectable .273 in nine games since his return from the IL with three doubles, a homer, and five runs scored. He's getting on base. The steals won't be that far behind. 3K for a leadoff batter is a pretty good bargain, even against a guy like Verlander.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa, 2B/3B - TOR vs. Chris Flexen ($3.2K DK; $2.6K FD)
It took a while for IKF to get going, but he has a modest seven-game hitting streak going on. He is hitting .407 during that streak with three doubles, two homers, three RBI, six runs scored, and a steal for good measure. Chris Flexen isn't scaring anyone. The Jays as a whole are starting to wake up. Kiner-Falefa is a cheap way to get exposure to a lineup that has scored 23 runs in the last three games.

MLB DFS Value Outfielders
George Springer, OF - TOR vs. Chris Flexen ($3.9K DK; $3.1K FD)
This has been a forgettable season for Springer, but he loves White Sox pitching. Springer has four hits, four walks, and four runs scored in nine plate appearances in this series. That's right...the Sox have only retired him once in two games. The Jays dropped him to seventh in the order on Monday. It looks like he belongs there. He hit his first homer since April 24 on Monday and could be catching fire.
GREAT day for George Springer & his leadoff replacement Davis! Not only did George hit a crucial HR, he did it in the lowest spot he's ever batted for the Blue Jays. Could have sulked but forged ahead. Also gives PLENTY of love to Davis! George is one hell of a teammate & leader! pic.twitter.com/lP4DdrFtD1

Adam Duvall, OF - ATL vs. MacKenzie Gore ($3.8K DK; $2.9K FD)
Why are we playing a guy hitting .213 on the season? Splits, my dudes! Duvall is smashing lefties (again) in 2024. He is hitting .286 with all five homers -- and all 13 RBI on the season, for that matter -- against left-handed pitching. Duvall is the poster child for platoons. Roll him out there against lefties.
Corey Julks, OF - CWS vs. Alek Manoah ($3.2K DK; $2.6K FD)
Julks could never break into the stacked Houston outfield, so it made sense for the Astros to trade him. He has found a home on the South Side and has a clear path to playing time with Eloy Jimenez on the IL.
Julks has started five games in a row and is 5-for-18 with two doubles in that span. Julks has a homer and two steals in 35 plate appearances for the Sox already. He's a low-risk dart throw in a game that could have a lot of offense.
