Marlins at Red Sox
More or Less Contest
Pablo Lopez more than 5.5 strikeouts and Nick Pivetta more than 5.5 strikeouts
Pablo Lopez has a tough matchup in this one as the Red Sox are starting to cut their K rate down and now have a rate of 23.0% vs. right-handers over the previous 10 days. That being said, Lopez has been strong recently and has allowed two earned runs or fewer in each of his last four starts. He has also gone over this K prop in two of his previous three starts and is fresh off a whopping nine strikeout performance against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Nick Pivetta gets the Marlins tonight who are striking out at a clip of nearly 25% vs. right-handers over the previous 10 days, which is ranked 13th-worst over that span. He has had some ups and downs in 2021, but does have a solid 3.69 ERA at home to go along with 35 strikeouts in 31 2/3 innings pitched. He has also gone over this total in each of his last four starts and all but one start since April 28th.

Star Shootout: Night Games
More or Less Contest
Dylan Bundy less than 5.5 strikeouts and Adbert Alzolay more than 5.5 strikeouts
Bundy has a tough matchup tonight against the Kansas City Royals. Not only are the Royals posting a solid wRC+ mark of 122 vs. right-handers over the previous 10 days, but they are also only striking out at a rate of 19.6%, which is ranked fourth-best in baseball. Bundy has struggled lately as well as he has failed to reach this total in each of his previous four games after having reached it in his first six games. Until we see Bundy correct the ship, the less than feels like the right play.
Adbert Alzolay will be facing a good team in the Padres tonight, but he has been solid himself having struck out at least six in all but two starts in 2021. He just faced these Padres in his previous start and managed to mow down seven of them. We have seen the Padres tend to strike out from time to time as was the case when Jacob deGrom mowed down 11 of them Saturday night. I am not saying Alzolay is DeGrom by any means, but their K rate of nearly 23% over the previous 10 days should be high enough for him to catch six of them.

Cubs at Padres
More or Less Contest
Adbert Alzolay more than 5.5 strikeouts and Ryan Weather less than 4.5 strikeouts
The reasoning behind a more than on Alzolay is mentioned about in the Star Shootout contest, but Weathers could be a nice candidate for a less than in this matchup. Currently, the Cubs are only striking out at a rate of 22.9% vs. left-handers over the previous 10 days, which is ranked 10th-best in baseball over that span. They are also posting a solid 106 wRC+ mark and walking at a clip of nearly nine percent. Weathers has failed to reach this total in all but two games on the season as well.
