Royals @ Yankees
More or Less Contest
Jameson Taillon less than 5.5 strikeouts and Brad Keller more than 4.5 strikeouts
Taillon has a tough matchup in this one against the Royals. Currently, the Royals are only striking out at a rate of 18.7% vs. right-handers over the previous 10 days, which is ranked second-best in baseball over that span. They have also posted a solid 112 wRC+ mark and are walking at a respectable 8.4% clip. Taillon has also failed to reach this total in each of his previous six games, so it certainly does not make sense that he would be able to eclipse it against this Royals team.
Brad Keller has been bad this season and I am not denying that, but he has gone over this strikeout total in four of his previous six starts. He will be facing a Yankees squad that is striking out the 12th-most against right-handers over the previous 10 days with a rate of 24.3%. Keller has also been allowed to go relatively deep even during his bad starts as he has thrown at least five innings in every start since May 7th.

Athletics @ Rangers
More or Less Contest
Chris Bassitt more than 5.5 strikeouts and Kolby Allard more than 4.5 strikeouts
Bassitt has been superb this season and has gone over this total in five of his previous six starts. While the Rangers are not striking out a ton lately against right-handers, they have shown the propensity to do so this season as they have the seventh-highest rate in all of baseball. I usually do not include this information in articles, but Bassitt is currently favored by Vegas to go over this total as well, which is another reason to like the more than here.
Kolby Allard is fresh off a start against the Minnesota Twins in which he struck out six batters. The Twins are currently posting the fifth-best K rate against left-handers with a rate of 18.6% over the previous 10 days. Oakland has a rate that currently sits at 22.4% over the previous 10 days. Allard has also increased his innings over his previous four starts and went six innings pitched in the aforementioned game against the Twins. He should have a good shot to go over this total at home in a friendly pitcher's park, especially considering it is a day game.
