MLB DFS Lineup Picks & Sleepers – DraftKings Advice for 8/29/15

The Cubs and Dodgers highlight a full slate of games on Saturday, along with match-ups pitting the Rangers against the Orioles and the Giants against the Cardinals. There won’t be much for star pitchers taking the mound, but plenty of great hurlers like Jacob deGrom, Lance Lynn, and Corey Kluber could make runs a premium. That said, every pitch will matter more than ever today with the playoff looming only short ways off, which should lead to some excitement.

Here are a few suggested picks for DraftKings DFS today.

Editor's Note: If you play on DraftKings, you should check out our Partner FanDuel - they're hosting a one-day Fantasy Baseball league tonight. It's just $5 to enter and pays out $70,000 in cash prizes, including 7K to 1st place!

Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking:

Arizona Diamondbacks (vs OAK)

Quietly among baseball’s best run-producing offenses, the Diamondbacks should do well at home against an inexperienced Aaron Brooks on Saturday. The Blue Jays shelled Brooks for eight runs in less than two innings a couple of starts ago, and the same could happen again today. Any stack involving Paul Goldschmidt has plenty of potential.

Toronto Blue Jays (vs DET)

It seems as if the Blue Jays are always on this list, and that’s simply because it’s really, really hard to take them off. Three of the hottest hitters in baseball right now belong to Toronto, and stacking any part of the Blue Jay lineup is a good bet to produce. A home matchup against Buck Farmer should only make things more encouraging.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings

Mat Latos (SP, LAD) - $7,300

Far from a star pitcher since his trade to the Dodgers, Latos may not seem an appealing option any day of the week, but his matchup against the Cubs may make him a great deal. Cubs hitters have faced Latos a combined 114 times, a pretty large sample size, and have a meager .211 AVG over those AB. With a solid offense behind him and a home crowd cheering him on, we could see Latos’ fire his best start as a Dodger today.

J.A. Happ (SP, PIT) - $7,700

Happ has quietly been strong over his last couple of starts, throwing 12 straight shutout innings while striking out nine in that span. He’ll take that recent success into a home matchup against a Rockies club that significantly dips in offensive production when away from Coors Field. A cheap option today, Happ could provide an excellent return on investment.

DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings

Francisco Lindor (SS, CLE) - $3,900

Lindor has swiped three bags in a game, driven in three runs in a game, and gone back-to-back days with a HR all in the last week. He offers solid potential in terms of nearly every offensive category, and could be a cheap source of points at home against Garrett Richards and the Angels.

Evan Gattis (1B, HOU) - $4,200

Purely a power hitter prone to the strikeout, Gattis has a dream matchup Saturday against a pitcher in Mike Pelfrey who has less than 50 Ks in nearly 150 IP. If Gattis can get ahold of one like he has in the last week, the powerful catcher/first baseman could put big points on the board.

Mike Moustakas (3B, KC) - $4,000

M0ustakas has 11 RBI over his last seven games and has had multiple hits in five of those. He’s a consistent hitter who’s recently caught fire, and there’s nothing about his matchup in Tampa Bay that suggests that hot streak could end Saturday.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings

Bryce Harper (OF, WSH) - $5,600

Price doesn’t mean anything when it comes to Harper today. In only 21 AB against Miami pitcher Tom Koehler, the Nationals’ slugger has a ridiculous five HR with nine RBI and a .333 AVG. That’s on top of already being one of the best hitters in baseball. Pick Harper today.

Jay Bruce (OF, CIN) - $3,900

A notoriously streaky hitter, Bruce has been colder than ice as of late, yet may be a sleeper option today. Recent struggles aside, the power-hitting lefty has a solid matchup against Matt Garza and Brewers on Saturday. Bruce has a pair of HR and a .333 AVG across 27 lifetime AB against Garza, and comes at a perfectly reasonable price.

Ben Revere (OF, TOR) - $4,100

Revere will bring a seven-game hitting streak into a Saturday tilt against the Padres and has been red hot over that stretch. He won’t offer any power but could produce a respectable amount of points through hits, runs, and steals at a cheap price.
