Offenses to Target for DraftKings Stacking
New York Mets LHB vs Shelby Miller
As left-handed batters, the New York Mets hold the third best offense in the league against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 118. Lucas Duda and Daniel Murphy both look to be nice value picks for Monday against opposing pitcher Shelby Miller. Miller has had a lot of issues with control and holds an 8.36 ERA through 3 outings in September.
Los Angeles Dodgers LHB vs Jhoulys Chacin
The Los Angeles Dodgers hold a top five offense against right-handed pitching as left-handed batters, with a wRC+ of 115. They look to have a nice matchup on Monday against opposing pitcher Jhoulys Chacin, who is only making his fourth start of the season. Corey Seager remains a great value pick at shortstop. Adrian Gonzalez should also be a nice pick, but make sure he is in the lineup as he is currently dealing with some back stiffness.
DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for DraftKings
Dallas Keuchel (SP, HOU) - $11400
Dallas Keuchel looks to have the easiest matchup out of the ace pitchers going on Monday. He will face the Los Angeles Angels, who hold a bottom ten offense against left-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 87. Keuchel had a hiccup in his last outing, but that can be easily forgiven with his track record and nice strikeout rate.
Jason Hammel (SP, CHC) - $7800
Jason Hammel looks to be a nice value pick as your secondary pitcher. Hammel has struggled since the All Star Break, but should still be capable of putting together a quality start against a weak Milwaukee Brewers offense. The Brewers hold a bottom five offense against right-handed pitching with a wRC+ of 91.
DFS Infielders to Consider for DraftKings
Brian McCann (C, NYY) - $3600
Brian McCann looks to be a great pick against opposing pitcher David Price on the road. McCann has hit left-handed pitching very well this season, as he holds a wRC+ of 121. McCann also has some very nice numbers against Price, as he is a lifetime 10 for 26 with 3 home runs against the southpaw.
Anthony Rizzo (1B, CHC) - $5000
Anthony Rizzo is a must-start on Monday against opposing pitcher Wily Peralta at home. Rizzo has hit right-handed pitching extremely well this season with a wOBA of .388. Also note that Rizzo has dominated Peralta in his career. Rizzo is a lifetime 12 for 26 with 5 home runs against Peralta.
Anthony Rendon (2B, WSH) - $3900
Anthony Rendon has really increased his value this home stretch, as he has put together a solid September to end off an otherwise lost season. Rendon holds a wOBA of .324 against right-handed pitching, and should have a nice day at the plate against opposing pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez. Jimenez only has one quality start in his last 7 starts.
David Freese (3B, LAA) - $3100
David Freese should be a solid pick against opposing pitcher Dallas Keuchel on the road. Freese lacks power and is not a real threat to Keuchel’s day on the mound. However, Freese provides some nice consistency and should be targeted in smaller competition pools. He holds a wRC+ of 109 against left-handed pitching on the season, and is also a career 9 for 19 with 1 home run against the southpaw.
Starlin Castro (SS, CHC) - $3400
Starlin Castro is a must-start against opposing pitcher Wily Peralta at home. Castro has continued his great September play, hitting a pair of home runs last Friday and keeping up his offense through the weekend. Castro may only hold a wOBA of .279 against right-handed pitching this season, but he has dominated Peralta in his career. Castro is a lifetime 12 for 27 with 2 home runs against Peralta.
DFS Outfielders to Consider for DraftKings
Bryce Harper (OF, WAS) - $6100
Bryce Harper’s price tag is atrocious, but you have to find some way to roster him against opposing pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez at home. You can very easily rely on his offense to carry your lineup, as he has been incredible in September. Harper is hitting .435 with 10 home runs, and also holds an astounding wOBA of .498 against right-handed pitching on the year.
Mike Trout (OF, LAA) - $5200
Mike Trout should be worth the price tag against opposing pitcher Dallas Keuchel on the road. Trout has really been one of the only threats in the dormant Angels lineup, holding a wRC+ of 173 against left-handed pitching on the season. He carries home run potential and a consistent average, but will continue to disappoint in the other scoring departments unless his team can pick it up around him. As opposed to his teammate Freese, Trout should definitely be targeted in larger competition pools because of this aspect.
Jacoby Ellsbury (OF, NYY) - $3400
Jacoby Ellsbury should be a nice bargain pick as your tertiary outfielder against opposing pitcher David Price on the road. Ellsbury has struggled against left-handed pitching this season, holding a wRC+ of only 74. However, he has seen plenty of Price in his career. Ellsbury is a lifetime 20 for 60 with 1 home run against the southpaw. Pair his BVP stats along with his nice hitting from the past week and you have yourself a great sleeper pick for Monday.
