'Tis the day after Opening Day and our second chance to build MLB DFS lineups. If you didn't have the White Sox beating the Angels 8-0 or the Orioles scoring twice as many runs as everyone else on your Bingo card, don't fret. We have a long way to go this season and many more chances at DFS glory!
Today sets up as another pitching-heavy slate with most teams rolling out their second-best starters, however, we do have a few pitchers who stand out to stack against, too. It's an eight-game slate tonight, which I always enjoy because we get enough options without having to consider the entire league's worth of players on one slate.
This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 3/28/2025, with the slate starting at 7:07 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.
DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Mitch Keller at MIA ($7.9K DraftKings; $9.8K FanDuel)
Keller gets the call on the bump today with Jared Jones on the IL to start the season. The good news for the Pirates is that Keller looked sharp in spring training and is probably better than many other "third starters" out there. The former ace of this staff, Keller, is only one year removed from a 25.5% K% and 6% BB%.
It's the same solid matchup we targeted yesterday with Skenes, who finished with seven strikeouts in five-plus innings. The DK price is much more appealing here than FD, as I prefer the next two pitchers over Keller for less salary.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs. DET ($9.0K DraftKings; $9.5K FanDuel)
Yamamoto was sharp in his debut over in Japan, limiting the Cubs to just three hits and one walk over five frames with four strikeouts. He should have a longer leash today in terms of pitch count, and he has another favorable matchup here against a Detroit offense that was average at best last year vs. RHP.

Yamamoto is the biggest favorite on the slate, as the Dodgers are -225 to win today. I think he's a good bet for another strong five to six innings with a K per inning and a win today.
Dylan Cease vs. ATL ($9.3K DraftKings; $9.3K FanDuel)
Cease was tied last year with Jack Flaherty in terms of the highest strikeout rates of anyone on this slate at 29%. The difference today is that Cease will face an Atlanta lineup that is without Ronald Acuna Jr. and Sean Murphy, while Flaherty has to face the mighty Dodgers.
Cease had his good strikeout stuff on display this spring, whiffing 26 hitters over 19 frames. He's not the safest pitcher on the slate by any means, but he brings the type of upside we are looking for in tournaments with his strikeout ability. I will probably play him in GPP formats over cash, especially on FanDuel, where he is a nice value compared to the other options priced above him.
Also consider: Tylor Megill @ HOU ($6.0K DraftKings; $7.7K FanDuel)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Corey Seager - SS, TEX vs. Tanner Houck ($5.1K DK; $3.6K FD)
Seager was hitless yesterday, but I like the matchup here against Houck today. Seager, when healthy, is one of the best hitters in baseball and is arguably underpriced for his lineup spot here, and I think Texas could be in a spot to break the slate here if they get the same version of Houck that we saw in spring training.
Ke'Bryan Hayes – 3B, PIT vs. Connor Gillispie ($3.2K DK; $2.4K FD)
Hayes has been viewed by many (myself included) as a bust who's not likely ever to pan out. However, the Pirates are giving him another opportunity this season to prove himself, and he's shown enough talent in the past to think he could still be a productive major leaguer.

The Pirates face the least-proven pitcher on the slate today in Gillispie. Hayes is a good contact hitter who can get on base and has the speed to swipe some bags - as we saw yesterday when he stole two. He's dirt cheap and plays a weak position on this slate, I don't mind punting third base with Hayes.
Josh Naylor – 1B, ARI vs. Jameson Taillon ($4.7K DK; $3.1K FD)
Jameson Taillon allowed lefties to hit 13 home runs last season and slug .428. Naylor is coming off a career year and hitting cleanup behind a few elite bats in Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll, who should be getting on base and providing ample RBI opportunities.
Also consider: Ketel Marte (ARI), Joey Bart (PIT), Triston Casas (BOS)
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Fernando Tatis Jr. - OF, SDP vs. Reynaldo Lopez ($5.4K DK; $4K FD)
Tatis was in midseason form already in the opener, going 3-4 at the plate and stealing two bases on his way to 27 FD points. He looks healthy, and I knew he was going to be more aggressive on the basepaths this season. He hits righties just as well as lefties, so I am not chasing platoon splits.
Ian Happ - OF, CHC vs. Merrill Kelly ($4.8K DK; $3.1K FD)
Happ has at least one hit in all three of the Cubs' games this season and got his first dinger last night while driving in three runs and scoring two more. He's far too cheap, in my opinion, for a leadoff hitter with some pop in his bat.
Kelly is a solid veteran arm, but a guy who gives up plenty of contact, too. The Cubs should be firmly on our radar after their 10-run outburst last night.
Gavin Sheets - 1B/OF, SDP vs. Reynaldo Lopez ($2.4K DK; $2.7K FD)
Sheets was one of the hottest hitters in spring training, smashing six homers in games that didn't matter. And sure enough, he went yard in his first (and only) at-bat as a Padre yesterday when he pinch-hit late in the game. He should start today at DH against the righty, and he's dirt cheap. He's always had really good power when facing righties and is my favorite value play on the board.
Also consider: Jackson Merrill (SDP), Corbin Carroll (ARI), Jarren Duran (BOS)
DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks
1. Arizona vs. Jameson Taillon
Taillon is one of the weaker pitchers on the slate, and the Diamondbacks wasted no time getting their bats going last night in putting up six runs on the Cubbies, even in a loss. This lineup for Arizona is deep and loaded with lefties who could do some serious damage.
Fave combo - Marte, Carroll, Naylor, McCathy
2. Padres vs. Reynaldo Lopez
This San Diego lineup is loaded with good hitters, and I am firmly planting my flag in the Reynaldo Lopez regression camp. I think he's simply not nearly as good as his numbers from last year. I am going to attack him early and often this year when he faces good offenses like this one.
Fave combo - Tatis Jr., Merrill, Machado, Cronenworth, Sheets
3. Rangers vs. Tanner Houck
Houck had a very shaky spring training, sporting an 11.20 ERA and an ugly 2.49 WHIP. Perhaps it was fluky, but I'm okay attacking him with some of these talented Texas bats. Vegas expects some offense in this as the total is set at nine runs (high for an early-season game).
Fave Combo - Seager, Langford, Pederson, Burger
