We begin August with a heavy 10-game main slate for our Saturday. With 20 pitchers on the slate, you would think we would have some easy decisions, but that's not the case. Let's check out the best way to balance hitting and pitching tonight!
This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on Saturday, August 3, 2024, with the slate starting at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Hunter Greene vs. SF ($8.7K DraftKings; $10.8K FanDuel)
I won't touch Greene on FD. That price is way too high. The price is right on DK though. Greene only allowed one earned run in 27 July innings with 29 strikeouts. The quality of the competition wasn't great, but it would be a stretch to say Los Gigantes are. The Giants are striking out 22.7% of the time against RHP in the last month, but they're still going to score a run or three.
Hunter Greene finished July by becoming the first #Reds pitcher since at least 1900 to allow as few as 9 hits in a calendar month,

Bailey Ober vs. CWS ($8.4K DraftKings; $10K FanDuel)
Pricing is so wacky on FD today that I might side with Jack Flaherty over the others. Greene and Ober are significantly cheaper on DK, so I'll go there first in better matchups. Ober has notched seven straight quality starts since the Pirates got him on June 9. In his last start, Ober one-hit the Tigers through eight shutout innings while striking out 11. What's he going to do to the hapless White Sox?
Kyle Harrison at CIN ($7.9K DraftKings; $8.5K FanDuel)
We were discussing in the premium Discord channel last night about the Reds' struggles against lefties. Snellzilla proceeded to no-hit the Reds. I'm not saying Harrison will do the same, but he should turn in another strong outing. He has only allowed two runs in 17 innings over his last three starts while striking out 20.
Also consider: Jack Flaherty at OAK, Grant Holmes vs. MIA, David Peterson at LAA

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Jose Ramirez – 3B, CLE vs. Zach Eflin ($6.1K DK; $4.2K FD)
That's four home runs in three games for José Ramírez as he notches the 244th of his career!

— Bally Sports Cleveland (@BallySportsCLE) August 2, 2024
Ramirez didn't hit another home run last night, but he did drive in his ninth run in the past four games. He has scored a run in five straight. The Cleveland offense has taken off lately and Jose is a big reason why. Eflin gave up a season-high 10 hits in his
Ryan Mountcastle – 1B, BAL vs. Joey Cantillo ($4.4K DK; $3K FD)
Mountcastle is hitting .306 with a .188 ISO against left-handed pitching this season. He also has a dozen RBI in the last 10 games. Mountcastle is a reasonably-priced way to get a piece of the rookie who struggled in his first start.
Xavier Edwards – SS, MIA vs. Grant Holmes ($4.1K DK; $3.1K FD)
People keep waiting for Edwards to slow down, but what if he doesn't? He has 102 major league at-bats this year and is hitting .382 with a homer, eight steals, 12 RBI, and 16 runs scored. He has at least one hit (and even one four-hit game in which he hit for the cycle) in 25 of 29 games. So what if he doesn't have much power? He is literally doing everything else!
Coby Mayo – 3B, BAL vs. Joey Cantillo ($2K DK; $2.3K FD)
You get a bonus pick today because the top prospect is free (okay...minimum price) on DraftKings and mashed lefties in the minors his year.
Also consider: Shohei Ohtani, Rafael Devers, Corey Seager, Xander Bogaerts
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Anthony Santander – OF, BAL vs. Joey Cantillo ($5.4K DK; $4K FD)
Cantillo threw almost exclusively fastballs and changeups in his first start while throwing in a few sliders for good measure. Santander has a .488 SLG against changeups and a .493 SLG against four-seamers. It could be a long short day for Cantillo
Lawrence Butler – OF, OAK vs. Jack Flaherty ($4.2K DK; $3K FD)
I don't make it a point to go after pitchers like Flaherty, but he isn't infallible. Butler is mashing fastballs (.579 SLG), but he has been even better against the curve. Butler is hitting a sizzling .538 off of curveballs this year. Those are two of Flaherty's three favorite pitches. Butler doesn't hit sliders as well, but he holds his own enough to wait on a curve or fastball.
Victor Robles – OF, SEA vs. Orion Kerkering/Kolby Allard ($3.4K DK; $2.7K FD)
The Robles Renaissance is still ongoing in Seattle. Just when we thought he might slow down, Robles has posted four games of at least two hits in his last five contests. He even homered and stole a base yesterday. Who knows how long this will last, but I'm riding his hot streak until it's over at this price.
Also consider: Kyle Schwarber, Wilyer Abreu, Masataka Yoshida
