We are back to the time of year when the Saturday slates are more split up again. We have eight games left for the main slate. With more than half the league on this slate, we still have plenty of good options.
This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on Saturday, August 17, 2024, with the slate starting at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Hunter Brown vs. CWS ($9.1K DraftKings; $9.9K FanDuel)
The White Sox offense has trolled a couple of times in the last week (including last night against Spencer Arrighetti). Still, they are striking out at a 25.4% rate against RHP over the last month with a league-worst 75 wRC. I'll call last night an aberration. Brown has 29 strikeouts over 23 innings in his last four starts.

Tanner Bibee at MIL ($8.8K DraftKings; $8.8K FanDuel)
Bibee's ERA is more than a full run lower (1.11) on the road this year. The Brewers are good when they make contact against righties, but they are striking out at a 24.3% rate over the last month.
Meanwhile, Bibee has only allowed four earned runs over 22 1/3 innings in his last four starts. He's a tougher sell on FD due to the lower strikeout totals, but he could end up with a few more against the free-swinging Brewers tonight.
Kyle Freeland vs. SD ($5.3K DraftKings; $7K FanDuel)
I don't know that I would take the plunge on FD with Freeland as my only pitcher, but he is a tournament option on DK as your SP2. Freeland defies logic. He has a sparkling 3.06 ERA in six home starts compared with an ugly 8.23 ERA on the road.
Freeland won't rack up the strikeouts to bail you out, but given his home track record this year and what we can afford with this punt, it could be worth it in a large-field GPP.
Also consider: Chris Sale at LAA, Dylan Cease at COL, David Festa at TEX

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Jose Ramirez – 3B, CLE vs. Freddy Peralta ($6.5K DK; $4.1K FD)
Man, those hitter prices on DK are getting ridiculous. Aaron Judge is $7K on the early slate and Shohei Ohtani is $6.9K despite being mired in a dreadful slump.
It's not Ramirez that's slumping...it's Peralta. He has allowed seven homers in his last four starts, not to mention the 15 runs (13 earned) in 22 1/3 innings. Ramirez destroys all four of the pitches that Peralta throws. He's my favorite play on the entire slate, price be damned.
Jeremy Pena – SS, HOU vs. Chris Flexen ($4.3K DK; $3.1K FD)
Pena is hitting .366 with three homers and eight RBI over the last week with a steal for good measure. His price has gone down $300 on DK in that span. It could be double this against Chris Flexen and I would still be interested.

Jackson Holliday – 2B, BAL vs. Brayan Bello ($3.9K DK; $2.9K FD)
Holliday picked up his first career four-hit performance last night. He is hitting .286 since rejoining the Orioles on July 31 with five homers, 13 runs scored, and 14 RBI in 15 games. He's very affordable to be putting up numbers like that.
Also consider: Josh Naylor, Jose Altuve, Donovan Solano
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Yordan Alvarez – OF, HOU vs. Chris Flexen ($6K DK; $4K FD)
It seems like Yordan is on a perpetual hot streak. In this last 10-game stretch, he has five homers, 10 RBI, and a .343 average. I will never know how he is this cheap against a dreadful White Sox staff. I will also not look this gift horse in the mouth. For good measure, Yordan is also hitting .356 at home.
Apparently Yordan Alvarez hit a Home Run so hard it broke the Rays video board 💀 pic.twitter.com/aPqSXsnr4N

Michael Harris II – OF, ATL vs. Griffin Canning ($4.2K DK; $3.2K FD)
Harris is riding a seven-game hitting streak that has lasted since June 9. He has hit the ground running since his return from a hamstring injury on Wednesday. This is another great matchup for Harris. Just be wary of the struggling lineup around him. That will hurt his overall counting stats.
David Peralta – OF, SD vs. Kyle Freeland ($3.4K DK; $3.3K FD)
The guy is hitting .438 with three homers, seven RBI, seven runs scored, and a steal over the last week and he is playing a team with far and away the worst bullpen in baseball. Kyle Freeland isn't an innings eater. Peralta should still have a productive night with two at-bats against this bullpen. For his price in DK, it's worth finding out.
Also consider: Marcell Ozuna, Jackson Merrill, JJ Bleday
