We have a monster Tuesday night slate with a dozen games on the main slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Well, it's actually 11 games now with the White Sox and Nats moving some things around to play a twin bill on the south side to make up yesterday's rainout. That takes Trevor Williams off this slate, but we still have some elite arms out there.
This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, with the slate starting at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is also essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Dylan Cease at COL ($11K DraftKings; $11K FanDuel)
In the year of our lord 2024, the most expensive pitcher on the slate is on the bump at Coors Field. I'm pretty sure this is the unheralded and lost-to-history Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse.
ABSURD outing by Padres Dylan Cease.
His slider was again on another level generating a:
🟡 12 Whiffs & 48% whiff%
🟡 50% Z-contact%
🟡45% CWS%➡️24 TOTAL whiffs today for Cease.
He now owns a 2.32 FIP & a K%> 30 in 24’ pic.twitter.com/iV3D8E31b5

Hey, do you know which pitches have more bite at Coors Field? Sliders and sinkers. Cease's slider has been filthy this year anyway. It's going to be on another level this far above sea level. Cease started a game in Denver back on April 22. He gave up just one run on one hit in seven innings while striking out eight. Considering that Cease has 20 strikeouts over 13.2 innings over his last two starts while allowing just one run, Cease should be at least that good again tonight.
Chris Sale vs. CHC ($10.4K FanDuel) / Logan Gilbert vs. KC ($9.2K DraftKings)
The pricing discrepancy on Sale and Gilbert across the two sites makes one a better play on one site and one on the other. Both have elite matchups. Gilbert should be on fewer rosters after getting bludgeoned by the Twins last week, but the Royals are getting worse instead of better.
As for Sale, he's still a solid play on DK, but I'm chasing the lower ownership and saving $800 by using Gilbert. That said, Sale is facing the team that just struck out 12 times against Dylan Cease last week. Call Sale the cash play on both sites with Gilbert the better option in large-field GPPs, at least on DraftKings.
Gavin Stone at SF ($7.9K DraftKings; $7.9K FanDuel)
If you want to poke holes in Stone's game, you can make some headway with the lack of strikeouts. The Giants aren't really going to help us there either. For that reason, Stone is a better play on DK. However, the lower tier of pitching is ghastly today. I could maybe argue for Reid Detmers on FD instead, but his strikeouts are coming at a very high price. He has allowed 22 runs in his last four starts, including 13 in the last two.
Which inevitably leads me back to Stone. He gets results. Stone has allowed just three runs in 20 innings over his last three starts, albeit with only 11 punchouts. His point totals on DK are still plenty for the price. The kicker? All three of those runs are on solo home runs.
Also consider: Hunter Greene at ARI, Jack Leiter vs. CLE

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Josh Naylor – 1B, CLE vs. Jack Leiter ($5.4K DK; $3.8K FD)
Leiter is one of the best prospects in all of baseball, but he has struggled at the major league level this year. After all, his expected ERA sits at 7.66, which is much better than his actual mark of 12.91. I think we start to see some correction on that today. This Cleveland lineup doesn't scare me with the exception of one guy.
That guy is Naylor. I mentioned over the weekend that he punishes four-seamers and sliders. Those are Jack Leiter's primary pitches. He throws them 77.3% of the time. The bad news for Leiter is that opponents are hitting .364 off the fastball and .500 off the slider. It's lining up to be another big day for Naylor, who has four homers in his last nine games.
Oneil Cruz – SS, PIT vs. Joe Ross ($4.6K DK; $3.1K FD)
Cruz is my first click at that price on FanDuel. Cruz is hitting .368 with four homers, four doubles, 10 RBI, and nine runs scored in May. The Pirates have Cruz batting cleanup against right-handed pitching. He has responded with five consecutive games in double figures in fantasy points.
Abraham Toro – 2B, OAK vs. Ronel Blanco ($3.7K DK; $2.8K FD)
There are hot streaks, then there's Abraham Toro. Most host streaks last a week, maybe two if you're lucky. Toro's has lasted 17 games so far. In that span, he's hitting .400 with two homers, nine RBI, 13 runs scored, and a stolen base just because he can.
Blanco has been good this year, but a look under the hood shows an impeding bad outing. His 4.06 BB/9 is horrendous. Add that to his unsustainable 89.7% LOB and .183 BABIP and we see trouble on the horizon.
Also consider: Anthony Rizzo, Marcus Semien, Josh Rojas
DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks
Christian Yelich - OF, MIL vs. Quinn Priester ($5.5K DK; $3.9K FD)
Yelich went hitless in his return against the Royals on May 8, but he has collected eight hits in the four games since. Priester's numbers are held up by a great start against the Giants at the end of April. In his other four starts, Priester has allowed 13 runs (nine earned) in just 14 innings. Look for Yelich to stay hot atop the Milwaukee order.
PERFECT RBI BUNT FROM CHRISTIAN YELICH
See baseball is fun even at low exit velocities!

Leody Taveras – OF, TEX vs. Ben Lively ($3.3K DK; $2.7K FD)
Taveras still hasn't cooled off. He is hitting .351 in May with two doubles, a triple, two homers, six RBI, five walks, two steals, and 13 runs scored. He is doing everything! Ben Lively has good numbers, but he doesn't miss a lot of bats and walks too many hitters. Texas could rock him and Taveras is a cheap way to get a piece of the lineup so we can spend on pitching.

Luke Raley – OF, SEA vs. Michael Wacha ($3.2K DK; $2.6K FD)
As stated above, I'm paying up for pitching so I need some value. Raley provides good value. He is hitting .375 in May. Both of his home runs on the season have come in the last eight games with six of his nine RBI on the campaign. Raley is a staple against right-handed pitching in the Seattle lineup and will remain so until he cools off.
Also consider: Shohei Ohtani, Max Kepler, Jackson Merrill
