Daily Pitcher Matchup Ratings Tool Top Plays

Cole Hamels (SP, TEX) vs White Sox

FanDuel - $9,600 / DraftKings - $9,400

In a field so deep Hamels can get lost. The White Sox have a .655 OPS versus LHP, fourth-worst in baseball. Don't be scared off by Mat Latos and his 5-0 start either. Hamels will pick up the W today.

Wei-Yin Chen (SP, MIA) vs Brewers

FanDuel - $7,800 / DraftKings - $7,800

This one has me at a loss, but perhaps that's what makes it so sneaky. While Chen has struggled with command lately, the Brewers only walks 6.2% of the time versus lefties, third-worst in baseball. Chen is due for a bounceback and facing Chase Anderson is the remedy.

Max’s Value Plays of the Day

Marcus Stroman (SP, TOR) at Giants

FanDuel - $7,700 / DraftKings - $8,600

There's some risk here considering he's facing Bumgarner, but Stroman is on fire. Over his last two starts he has allowed three runs and struck out 17 batters.

Kyle Hendricks (SP, CHC) vs Padres

FanDuel - $8,500 / DraftKings - $9,000

The forgotten Cubs pitcher has been solid, including six scoreless innings his last time out. He has a 2-0 record with a 0.82 ERA against the Padres.

Jerad Eickhoff (SP, PHI) at Braves

FanDuel - $6,900 / DraftKings - $8,000

Eickhoff has allowed three runs over six innings in each of his past two starts, but those were the Indians and Cardinals. This is the Braves, who strike out 22.7% of the time versus righties.

Starting Pitchers to Fade in Daily Fantasy Baseball

Madison Bumgarner (SP, SFG) vs Blue Jays

FanDuel - $11,200 / DraftKings - $12,400

The highest priced pitcher on the board facing a team that rarely strikes out to lefties. Factor in a hot Stroman and this is an easy fade.

Doug Fister (SP, HOU) vs Indians

FanDuel - $6,900 / DraftKings - $5,400

Don't be fooled by the four consecutive quality starts. The strikeouts aren't there and the Indians have hit him well previously.
