While we didn't get a chance to see what the good ole Mariners will do in save situations, there are still a few stories of note from the past week.

Closers & Saves Updates for Week 14
Santiago Casilla (RP, SFG)
There is some news out of San Francisco. Manager Bruce Bochy has announced that he intends to rest Casilla for a few days due to a "tired arm". This has to be a little bit concerning for Casilla owners who need to hope this isn't the precursor to a serious injury. Casilla has been great this year with 20 saves, but he gave up three runs without recording an out in his most recent appearance. His owners should be patient and hope this is just a brief resting period.
In the meantime, it is likely the Giants will use Sergio Romo and/or Hunter Strickland to close games. While he's still racking up the strikeouts, Romo has had a down year with a 4.32 ERA in 25 innings. He does have closing experience with 78 saves. I'd keep an eye on Romo if Casilla is out for longer than expected.
John Axford (RP, COL)
Axford was placed on the temporary inactive list on July 1st to deal with his son's illness. This shouldn't have lasting fantasy implications. For the time being, the Rockies will be going with a closer by committee approach. Latroy Hawkins is the likely candidate to pick up some save chances if the opportunity presents itself in the next few days. Boone Logan is another name to watch.
Cody Allen (RP, CLE)
After an extremely rough start to the season, Cody Allen has gotten everything in order for the Indians. Allen hasn't given up a run in his last 15 appearances, dating back to May 24th. This, in addition to his elite 55 strikeouts in 34 innings, makes him a top fantasy option moving forward. In his last four appearances specifically, Allen struck out 10 of 12 batters faced. He has certainly found his groove. Allen is still available in over 20% of ESPN leagues. He's a great waiver wire option for those who can pick him up. Don't be afraid to submit a trade offer either.
