Happy Wednesday RotoBallers! John, aka 'LucidMedia," back with your MLB betting picks for this Wednesday, July 5th! We had a tough Monday, going 0-2. We look to get back at it today during today's slate of games, and I'm looking at a game I see some nice value picks in to get us going into the weekend.
I will be doing these picks for you every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday going forward this baseball season. Just to let you know, I mainly bet on FanDuel Sportsbook, and that's where the odds below will be coming from. I know not everyone is able to bet on Fanduel, so if you are betting elsewhere just make sure to shop around and find the best odds.
We have been really increasing our sports betting content at RotoBaller, and this year will be no different. Tommy Bell (@BellRoto) will be handling things over in our premium offering. Steve Janik (@stevejanik6) will be carrying the free picks on during the week throughout the season with some help from yours truly. And Kipp Heisterman (@kipppsta) brings you the Monkey Knife Fight picks. Let's make some money and have fun. but remember, please gamble responsibly! The RotoBaller team has had a great month of June on the books so far, so let's finish it out strong and make some money!

Detroit Tigers @ Texas Rangers
O/U: 8 | Moneyline: TEX -140
DET: Casey Mize | TEX: Kyle Gibson
Two pitchers who are having surprisingly good seasons square off today in Texas. Casey Mize (5-5, 3.55) matches up with Kyle Gibson (6-0, 1.98). Mize is having a nice bounce-back year as he struggled in his COVID-shortened rookie campaign, while Gibson is making a case to be the AL Cy Young award winner.
Neither Texas nor Detroit light up the scoreboard in the first inning, as Texas only scores 0.4 runs per first-inning, while Detroit only scores 0.36 runs per first-inning. I see a lot of value in the first-inning draw here at only -125. As I previously mentioned, Mize has pitched very well this season, but Gibson has pitched better. I favor the team with the better pitcher on the mound here, as well as Texas being 4-0 in their last four after giving up five runs in their previous game, and 5-1 in their last six games as a home favorite. Dating back to 2019, the Tigers are just a measly 36-78 in their last 114 games as a road underdog and 27-65 in their last 92 road games against a right-handed starter. I like backing the Rangers here at a decent price as well
Pick: First-Inning Draw (-125) and Rangers Moneyline (-140) FanDuel Sportsbook
Sorry that it's just one game with two plays today, I have a personal thing I need to take care of so I wasn't fully able to break down the slate today, but we do what we have to do. Be sure to give me a follow on Twitter @LucidMediaDFS for potentially more picks throughout for tonight's slate. Let's keep it rolling!
