Welcome back, RotoBallers! We have an action-packed day today, with ACC College Football returning, the continue of NBA and MLB playoffs, and a full slate of NFL games to prepare for tomorrow! Don't forget some solid UFC fights tonight. But with all that going on, there are still a boatload of MLB games to take into account, and even if you TVs will be turned elsewhere, I can help you make some cash on a baseball game or three today.
As I'm sure you already know know, Steve Janik and I will be sharing the duties of writing up an MLB Betting article every day of the week! All season long we'll be supplying you MLB betting articles with a few of our favorite picks for the day in baseball. Along with the picks, we'll give a little write-up with some supporting evidence for the picks, and we'll keep track of our records throughout the course of the season. You can always find my updated picks for the day as well as my running tally @BellRoto on Twitter. I'll also do my best to continue posting my picks there on my "Off Days" for this series.
- Friday, September 11: 1-2
- 2020 Season Total: 99-84
Without further ado, let's get to the picks for today's slate. Please make sure to follow me on Twitter @BellRoto, as I'll post any updates and/or additions to these picks there throughout the day. I'll also field any questions or comments on Twitter as well as in our Premium RotoBaller Slack Chat under the Sports Betting channel. Here we go!

Pittsburgh Pirates at Kansas City Royals (-120)
O/U: 9
PIT: Trevor Williams, KC: Carlos Hernandez
I typically don't back my favorite team, especially in this dumpster year of 2020. While they are in a battle for last place in the league, there are some things to like about the Buccos over the past week. For one, the offense has slowly started to wake up. The arrival of top prospect Ke'Bryan Hayes has boosted both the defense and the offense in a hurry. We also saw Josh Bell make an appearance in the box score last night. Trevor Williams is in a good spot for a regression outing after letting up a few long balls last time out, ruining what was a very efficient start otherwise. And we have a bullpen game for KC, with their starter getting called up just a couple of weeks ago to fill a void. I'm going to double down here after a tough loss last night. Two units on my boys from the 'Burgh!
Pick: Pirates ML (Even) 2 Units
Chicago Cubs (-125) at Milwaukee Brewers
O/U: 9
CHC: Kyle Hendricks, MIL: Brett Anderson
After an ugly 1-0 loss last night, I expect this dangerous Cubs lineup to come out and make up for lost time on Saturday night. Brett Anderson has been hit hard of late for the Brewers, and a healthy Chicago lineup should be able to take advantage of that in a hitter's park in Milwaukee. Kyle Hendricks is one of the best at limiting hard contact, so I'm completely comfortable with a -125 line here, and in fact it already looks like it's moving further towards the Cubbies.
Pick: Cubs ML (-125) 1 Unit
Seattle Mariners at Arizona Diamondbacks (-163)
O/U: 8.5
SEA: Justus Sheffield, ARI: Zac Gallen
While I've been burned by the Dbacks time and time again this year, it hasn't been at the fault of Zac Gallen. He's worlds ahead of Justus Sheffield in terms of development and overall pitching upside right now, so I don't mind the larger number. While Arizona's offense has been tough to watch, Seattle is one of the few lineups who are even worse on paper. I'll play the run line here and hope that the Dbacks can slowly start making the money back that they've lost me in the last couple of months.
Pick: Diamondbacks -1.5 (+122) 1 Unit
