Welcome back, RotoBallers! Another 4-1 day on Sunday has us officially in the midst of another heater. That makes 11-2 since my day off on Thursday, 8/27. A breather can do wonders, even in gambling! We have some great pitchers on the bump on this beautiful Monday, so let's see if we can keep that train rolling through the weekend into another great week of MLB action!
As I'm sure you already know know, Steve Janik and I will be sharing the duties of writing up an MLB Betting article every day of the week! All season long we'll be supplying you MLB betting articles with a few of our favorite picks for the day in baseball. Along with the picks, we'll give a little write-up with some supporting evidence for the picks, and we'll keep track of our records throughout the course of the season. You can always find my updated picks for the day as well as my running tally @BellRoto on Twitter. I'll also do my best to continue posting my picks there on my "Off Days" for this series.
- Sunday, August 16: 4-1
- 2020 Season Total: 81-62
Without further ado, let's get to the picks for today's slate. Please make sure to follow me on Twitter @BellRoto, as I'll post any updates and/or additions to these picks there throughout the day. I'll also field any questions or comments on Twitter as well as in our Premium RotoBaller Slack Chat under the Sports Betting channel. Here we go!

Tampa Bay Rays at New York Yankees
O/U: 7.5
TB: Tyler Glasnow, NYY: Gerrit Cole
Ah the good 'ol fashioned former Pirate pitching matchup we Buccos fans love to see!! (*Crying emoji*). This should be another fun one in the Bronx, and I think both Cole and Glasnow are in primed spots to have really nice outings. If that's the case, then we're looking at something like a 2-1 or 2-2 game going into the eighth inning. I trust both of these bullpens to close it down, so I like giving half a run back to get a plus money O/U bet. This should be an awesome pitcher's duel, so let's hope we can avoid extra innings and get out of here with a low-scoring affair.
Pick: Under 7 Total Runs (+121) 1 Unit
Cleveland Indians (-230) at Kansas City Royals
O/U: 7.5
CLE: Shane Bieber, KC: Brad Keller
My "Brad Keller isn't this good" stance finally rang true last time out, as he got shelled by the Cardinals. I believe this lineup is even tougher, and it seems like there should be more regression coming. Meanwhile, Shane Bieber may very well be the front-runner for the Cy Young award, and nothing in the Kansas City lineup scares me in the slightest. Should be a pretty easy victory for the Tribe after dropping a tough one to the Cardinals yesterday.
Pick: Indians -1.5 (-134) 1 Unit
Chicago White Sox (-138) at Minnesota Twins
O/U: 9
CWS: Lucas Giolito, MIN: Rich Hill
Giolito continued showcasing the potential that many raved about for years in his no-hitter against, yep you guessed it, my Pirates. So, how does he follow it up? Well, the Twins are no easy task. That being said, I DO think Giolito is as good as advertised. I'm not sure what took him so long, but the stuff is there, and his consistent delivery bodes well for sustained success. I also think Rich Hill is on the way out in terms of efficiency with his wonky pitch mix. I'm going to hope the potent White Sox offense gets to Hill the second or third time around the order, and I firmly believe Giolito has another gem up his sleeve for tonight. If you're looking for more action, this O/U of 9 runs also seems a bit high at first glance.
Pick: White Sox ML (-138) 1 Unit
