ANALYSIS: With a career ERA of 4.06 and K/9 of 6.54, Miles Mikolas is not a pitcher you want anchoring your fantasy rotation, but can be a reliable spot starter when the matchup calls for it. And that is just what we have this week, as his next start lines up with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The 35-year-old faced them earlier this month and had their number, twirling his best outing of the season. The veteran pitched seven innings, allowing zero runs on just one hit and one walk while striking out six.

His 5.32 ERA on the season is well above his career rate, but a FIP of 4.17 suggests the results should have been better. For what it's worth, the two-time All-Star has a better ERA on the road this season (4.59) than at home (6.18). He's rosterable in deeper leagues and could be a viable streaming option in shallower leagues for managers in need of some pitching help. Mikolas is available in nearly 75% of Yahoo leagues.
