BALLER MOVE: Start in all formats
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR2
ANALYSIS: Unfortunately for fantasy managers of Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans, he's been outshined by fellow WR Chris Godwin to this point. That being said, Week 3's matchup with the Denver Broncos was a tough one, with All-Pro cornerback Pat Surtain providing great coverage against Evans.
Evans has been less involved than expected, with Bucs QB Baker Mayfield only targeting him 15 times throughout three games. Evans is still a future hall-of-fame receiver though, and the Bucs would be better served getting him the ball more. Evans caught 13 touchdowns in 2023 and is a fantastic red zone threat.

Fantasy managers should temper expectations for Evans if they expect him to repeat his 2023 season, though. Evans is now 31 years old and while the age cliff comes slower for elite players, 13 touchdowns is a ridiculous clip that's tough to replicate. He was also targeted an average of eight times per game last season.
If Evans is to replicate his 2023 numbers, he will probably need more targets to do it. 5-6 targets per game won't cut it. Fellow Bucs WR Chris Godwin has averaged over eight targets per game so far, and if Godwin continues to be the priority target, Evans will probably continue to have bust games against good competition.
He's still easily a WR2 though, and should be started in all leagues for his upside.

The wide receiver position has an advantage over the running back position in PPR scoring formats, typically.
