Welcome RotoBallers to our mid-week fantasy baseball waiver wire rankings list for Week 22 - August 14 through August 20 to help you stay on top of the waiver wire, especially in leagues that allow daily moves. The Giants promoted outfield prospect Wade Meckler on Monday. Meckler is hitting .300 (3-for-10) with a walk and six strikeouts over his first three big league games. Top prospects such as Masyn Winn, Colt Keith, Ceddanne Rafaela, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Ronny Mauricio, Michael Busch, and Jordan Lawlar patiently await the call to the big leagues.
Some notable recent performances include Oakland A's second baseman Zack Gelof, who has been mentioned in this article before and continues to mash. Gelof has homered four times over his last seven games. Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto is starting to heat up, slashing .267/.371/.500 with two home runs, three RBI, and five runs over his last 10 games. Since the calendar flipped to August, San Francisco Giants infielder Wilmer Flores is slashing .308/.357/.538 with two home runs, six RBI, and six runs over his last 42 plate appearances.
Injuries are piling up as St. Louis Cardinals outfielders Tommy Edman (calf) and Lars Nootbaar (abdomen) are considered day-to-day. Chicago White Sox outfielder Eloy Jimenez (groin) has been dealing with groin discomfort since July, and it's bothering him again in mid-August. Chicago Cubs right-hander Marcus Stroman (ribs) was placed on the 15-day injured list with a right rib cage cartilage fracture. Reinforcements are coming as Texas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (shoulder) threw another bullpen session and could soon be activated from the injured list.
