The waiting game is over for former New York Jets quarterback behind the quarterback, behind the other quarterback, behind the quarterback’s assistant, behind that one limping towel boy, Michael Vick. It was announced Tuesday night that 35-year old Vick signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers and will serve as the team’s backup QB behind starter Ben Roethlisberger.
The move came after second string QB Bruce Gradkowski suffered a hand injury during Pittsburgh’s game against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, and underwent finger surgery on Tuesday.
Because Vick is a mobile quarterback, it might take some time getting used to this new offense, which will primarily consist of watching Roethlisberger toss a drunk looking interception after getting nailed in the head for the billionth time. WAIT! No, he’s fine, it’s not a concussion - his head just naturally looks like it was kicked in by the Hulk a few thousand times.
With this signing, it’s apparent that Pittsburgh’s goal is to have their 2015-16 win record to be as high as the felony counts on each quarterback’s individual rap sheet.
