BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Leagues
OWNED IN: 3% of Leagues
ANALYSIS: Michael Saunders has always had the ability to be a five tool player but it sure helps to regain your form by getting out of Seattle and being amongst the murderer's row of talent known as the Toronto Blue Jays. Saunders can slot in the bottom third of the lineup and still put up gaudy numbers. If his 2012 stats in Seattle wet your appetite then imagine what he can do with a full healthy season in Toronto. During that 2012 campaign he played in a career high 139 games and hit 19 HR with 21 SB and a .185 ISO. He should be able to score a ton of runs and have ample opportunities to become the 20/20 player he was touted to be since his early minor league days.
Even with young talents like Anthony Alford and Dalton Pompey nipping at his heels ready to go in the minors, Saunders can prove he belongs with a solid run this season. His BB% is a bit of concern and his elevated K% can be alarming in the friendly confines of the Rogers Centre. Saunders has shown in the past that he is capable of it but must separate himself or suffer relegation as a platoon or bench player. Several OF have already bitten the dust with injury and that has owners scrambling to find answers. At 3% owned Saunders will be seen on waiver wires and treated as a fill in but might just become a solid replacement in the process.
