ANALYSIS: Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. was a polarizing player during the preseason. The wide receiver was coming off a solid 2022 season despite the team having a merry-go-round situation at quarterback. Some had concerns he would struggle with Anthony Richardson taking over under center. The rookie quarterback has a bright future ahead of him but was far from the most consistent passer in college.
However, Pittman has been outstanding in 2023. He is the WR11 for the year, averaging 13.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The veteran has four receiving touchdowns, a team-high. Pittman is also only five receptions and 16 receiving yards away from the first 100-reception and 1,000-receiving yard season of his career.
This afternoon, the star wide receiver faces the Pittsburgh Steelers in a solid fantasy football matchup. The Steelers have surrendered 26.8 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, slightly above the league average.
Fantasy players should feel confident starting Pittman this week. He has scored 15.5 or more fantasy points in three consecutive games and double digits in 76.9% of the contests this year. Furthermore, the wide receiver has seen at least 11 targets in four consecutive contests.
