BALLER MOVE: Sit in 12+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR5
ANALYSIS: Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup was once considered an up-and-coming star in fantasy football. Unfortunately, he has struggled with injuries in his career and became a role player. The veteran is the WR64 for the year, averaging 5.4 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Gallup has 27 receptions on 45 targets for 344 receiving yards and a touchdown this season.
While the veteran wide receiver hasn’t been a fantasy-relevant player this year, he has taken advantage of appealing matchups. Gallup scored 14 fantasy points in the win over the New York Giants two weeks ago and 12.2 in the Week 3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Both teams have struggled to slow down wide receivers in 2023.
Meanwhile, the Washington Commanders have arguably the worst pass defense in the league. They have given up 34.1 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, the third-most in the NFL. Furthermore, they have surrendered 193.3 receiving yards, 1.5 touchdowns, and 36.1 fantasy points per game to wide receivers over the past four weeks.
Gallup is a boom-or-bust type of player. Therefore, it’s hard to trust him in season-long leagues. However, his Thanksgiving matchup makes the veteran an appealing DFS or betting option.
