Analysis: Owners of Arizona Cardinals' wideouts Michael Floyd or John Brown shouldn't put much stock in last week's statements by head coach Bruce Arians that Floyd has taken the starting job back from Brown. The truth is, along with the resurgent Larry Fitzgerald, they all start in Arizona's three-wide attack. Floyd is the better run-blocker on the edge, so it's hardly surprising that Arians would bump Brown back inside.
Floyd is finally all the way back from breaking multiple fingers over the summer. His line of 4-108-1 in Week 8 before the Cards' bye week proves just how effective he can be when healthy. It was the third consecutive game with a score for Floyd.
Floyd, at 6-2, 220 pounds, does have a fairly low floor. The Cards spread the ball around consistently, and it's hard to expect 20 points on a consistent basis. However, as the deep threat on a pass-heavy team his ceiling is sky-high.
Arizona has a tough matchup against Seattle this week. Floyd could draw Richard Sherman more often than not, as he did in Seattle's 35-6 win last December. Still, if you're looking for solid depth and a promising WR3 start, grab Floyd if he's out there.
