Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Floyd remained sidelined during Thursday’s practice with a hamstring injury. He is officially listed as questionable on the team’s injury report, but is starting to look more doubtful than anything.
The Cardinals have tough matchup on Sunday with or without Floyd because they are up against the Cincinnati Bengals. Luckily for the Cardinals, the team still has John Brown and Larry Fitzgerald, both of who have proved themselves capable of putting up big yardage in the receiving game.
Through nine games this season Floyd has 27 receptions for 432 yards and five touchdowns.
If Floyd plays, consider him a WR3 against the Bengals. If he doesn’t play, you can comfortably slot in John Brown as a WR3.
One team that can’t afford to lose their starting wide receiver is the Houston Texans. That’s why it’s not fun to report that Hopkins also remained sidelined for his team’s practice on Thursday.
Hopkins is currently dealing with a knee injury. The team seems to believe Hopkins will still play on Sunday. The coaching staff probably feels like Hopkins doesn’t need to practice to be effective.
Hopkins has been one of the best fantasy football performers of the season thus far. Through nine games he has 71 receptions for 927 yards and seven touchdowns. He is quickly becoming recognized as one of the best receivers in all of football and deservedly so.
Hopkins’ productivity is even more amazing when you consider that opposing defenses are double and even triple covering him. That’s because the Texans have no running game and their other receivers have been dealing with their own injuries all season long.
If Hopkins plays, he is a no brainer WR1 week in and week out.
Speaking of teams who have a wide receiver they can’t afford to lose, Julio Jones will have to deal with being shadowed by Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis.
Luckily for his fantasy owners, Jones is good enough to beat any cornerback in the NFL one on one. So if the Colts are thinking about letting Davis out on an island with Jones, the Falcons could be in store for a ton of points on Sunday.
Through nine games this season Jones has hauled in 80 passes for 1029 yards and six touchdowns. Just like Hopkins, he is a no brainer must start every single week regardless of matchup. If you don’t already know that, you need to find a new hobby!
