ANALYSIS: Back in the days when Tyreek Hill was the no. 1 WR in the Chiefs offense it was clear who to roster in fantasy football. Even now, you can easily grab TE Travis Kelce shares and you'd be most probably okay. Outside of that, though, it's always been a mess in KC when it comes to the rest of the available weapons for QB Patrick Mahomes. Luckily for us, Mecole Hardman seems to be trying to change (and achieving) that.
Hardman has now finished three consecutive weeks inside the top-33 WRs of those respective slates and, most importantly, has racked up top-3 (Week 7) and top-6 (Week 9; pending MNF) PPR points in his last two games (KC went on a bye on W8).
It was going to be impossible for Hardman to replicate his W7 outcome (28 PPR points to the tune of three scores: 2 rushing TDs, one receiving) but he was good for 19.9 last Sunday against Tennesse with a much more believable and trustable-going-forward line: six receptions on nine targets for 79 yards and one more touchdown. It's now been three consecutive weeks for Hardman scoring a receiving TD after he did for the first time back in Week 1.
Hardman has played between 40% and 60% of the snaps KC has logged on offense since the start of the season. He's strung four games with at least 4 targets leading up to last Sunday's season-high 9 looks. He's caught at least 3 passes in each of those games, and he either got to 73 yards or one TD in all of them.
Kelce and JuJu Smith-Schuster have posted better overall numbers for the Chiefs but Mecole seems to have taken possession (once and for all) of the ever-up-for-grabs WR2 role in this offense.
