BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 27% of Yahoo! leagues
ANALYSIS: When the Mariners moved on from both Hunter Strickland and Roenis Elias, sending them both to the Nationals at the trade deadline, it was anyone's guess who would step into the closer role.
That someone, at least most of the time, has been journeyman right-hander Matt Magill. Magill owns four saves, along with a subpar 4.40 ERA and 1.42 WHIP.
Beyond that though he does sport a very nice 27.8% strikeout rate, a not-terrible 9.3% walk rate and a 3.81 FIP with a 3.80 SIERA. So really, Magill is pitching like a slightly below average closer as opposed to an actively bad one.
That's not exactly going to inspire all of you to jump onto the waiver wire, but he's the best option the Mariners have at this point, and if you are desperate for saves he's worth a look, even in 12+ team formats.
