BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 29% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The Hornets entered the Wemby Sweepstakes in a rather unexpected way mostly because of the team's players suffering a bunch of injuries, and they might actually end up throwing the season away entirely if they can't bounce back in time to make a play-in run.
For Charlotte to know which direction to take, though, it will take playing their best guys for a little while more, including a returning LaMelo Ball, Gordon Hayward, and veteran big man Mason Plumlee. The former two just returned to the court this week and Plumlee has never left the starting lineup.
It's been 29 games played by the center through Saturday, and since the start of November, he's never logged fewer than 22 minutes of playing time in a single game. Plumlee is averaging 30 MPG in December alone (eight games played) while putting up an incredibly efficient fantasy production at a 1.11 FP/min clip (league average at 0.90).
Plumlee is not quite there as a nightly double-double performer, but he's close enough, having 11 in 29 games since the start of the season. He's averaging 9.6 PPG and 9.5 RPG, so it can't really be any closer. More interestingly, Plumlee is also dishing out 4.0 APG nightly. Only five players are keeping up a 9-9-4 line this season, mind you.
The dimes might go down a bit now that Ball is back and Hayward might also dish out some assists. Even then, though, there aren't many more efficient players than Plumlee guaranteed minutes, let alone available in more than 70% of all ESPN leagues.
