ANALYSIS: Rookie MarShawn Lloyd has made the 53-man roster for the Green Bay Packers, while veteran AJ Dillon has been placed on IR and will miss the entire 2024-2025 season.
This is a major development for Lloyd's potential value this season as he should now be in the mix for some snaps with Emanuel Wilson as the two compete to be Josh Jacobs' backup this year.
The Packers took Lloyd in the third round of the NFL Draft this spring after he averaged 7.1 yards per carry at USC last season. He showed breakaway speed in college and the ability to run through contact, too.

Lloyd is nursing a hamstring injury this preseason but is expected to be able to suit up for Week One. He likely won't be much of a factor early in the season, but watch for him to start to earn touches as a change-of-pace from Jacobs. Draft him in the late rounds where you can, as very few late-round backs carry the same upside as a handcuff as Lloyd does.
