ANALYSIS: Aaron Rodgers had a fantastic start to the season in Week 1 passing for a monster 364 yards and four touchdowns. Throwing 44 passes, it made sense to find all of Green Bay's wideouts getting at least four targets each and racking up big numbers. MVS finished with 96 yards and a score on four receptions back then, which was good enough to reach 19.6 PPR points.
Although he finished with one fewer catch (3) last Sunday, MVS was targeted one more time (7) and put on a very healthy 64 receiving yards with no touchdowns, though. That means MVS has averaged 24 and 21.3 Y/R to kick the year off. More important is the fact that MVS has finished as either the WR2 or WR1 in both games only behind Davante Adams (he had to leave W2 early injured). It will be a competition between Marquez and Lazard for the WR2 role all season long, but so far MVS is edging Lazard.
With Adams out for most of the second half of the Packers last game (hamstring) and probably missing time if Green Bay doesn't want to risk it with him, MVS upside has only grown higher. New Orleans ranks 18th in points allowed to the WR position and the Packers only have three healthy players at wide receiver, so the targets will stay as high as they can. Marquez is a weekly FLEX play at the very least (19.6 and 9.4 PPR points so far) with upside for more no matter the league size.
