Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR, GB) - Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues

ROSTERED: 17% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: There is no reason for Green Bay to, all of a sudden, start giving Marquez Valdes-Scantling some heavy dose of targets. Not with Davante Adams reaching 18+ fantasy points weekly in the last four games (30+ in three of them), Aaron Jones playing as a borderline QB1/2 with 13+ fantasy points on average, and Allen Lazard returning sooner rather than later.

Even with that already in our brains, and our volume-based expectations tamed a bit, MVS looks like the piece missing in Green Bay's offense. He just can get it done on deep passes down the field, and that adds another dimension to the Packers attack. Look at MVS last two games. He got targeted 4 and 6 times in Weeks 9 and 10, and although he just caught 2 and 4 of those passes respectively he still finished with 53 yards and 2 TDs, and 149 yards and 1 TD. That's efficiency, folks.

MVS had a 19.6-PPR performance in Week 1, but had been rather disappointing leading up to Week 9. Then and there, against San Francisco, he put up 19.3 points and he improved on that this past Sunday hanging 24.9 PPR points on Jacksonville.

It is hard to believe MVS will sustain this level of production for long, even less with some missing/underperforming pieces in Green Bay right now. But Rodgers is trusting MVS more and more each passing week and MVS has the off-the-top speed to make big plays often. Not the safest of WW targets (due to his very low floor and total boom/bust profile), but definitely someone to play at the FLEX position in deeper formats with upside for a WR2 finish.
