BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 6% of leagues
ANALYSIS: After hitting a quiet 17 home runs in his 411 plate appearances last year for Oakland, outfielder Mark Canha was a late-round sleeper heading into 2019 but then promptly disappointed with a .200 AVG over his first 18 games before going on the injured list on April 28 with a sprained wrist. Canha returned in May and keeps quietly hitting home runs but the fantasy world still refuses to pay attention, with his ownership still at a laughable 6%.
Why is that ownership laughable? Because since he came back on May 13, Canha's 15 HR are tied for the 9th-most in the league, or as many as Juan Soto and Alex Bregman have over that same time period. And in 70+ fewer plate appearances. In his 103 plate appearances since the beginning of July, Canha has a .945 OPS and a 150 wRC+, with six home runs, fifteen runs scored, while even throwing in two stolen bases.
This week Canha and the Athletics have an all-Chicago road trip, first visiting the Cubs on the Northside for three games before heading south for three against the White Sox, with early forecasts calling for the Windy City to live up to its name, particularly later in the week. Eligible at first base as well as the outfield, grab Canha now for some free waiver wire power.
