ANALYSIS: Marcus Mariota has been a steady, if unspectacular, producer in this run-heavy Atlanta Falcons offense. Although it seems as though Atlanta head coach Arthur Smith would sometimes rather take a frying pan to the face than throw the football, Mariota has overcome Smith's conservative play calling thanks to high passing efficiency and his ability to run.
Mariota ranks among the top eight in the NFL at the QB position in rushing attempts (55), rushing yards (280), and rushing TDs (3).
While the Falcons are one of the league's most run-heavy teams, Mariota has maintained fantasy relevance thanks to his high efficiency. The Atlanta pivot is completing passes at a 62.9% clip and his average of eight yards per pass is near the league lead.
The consistently low pass volume certainly caps Mariota's fantasy upside a bit, but his efficiency and rushing ability make him a viable streamer for those in need of QB help in deeper leagues.
