ANALYSIS: The only thing taking Marcus Mariota off shallower-league radars is the fact that he is at an arm's length of putting up a random stinker any given week. Over a full season, though, concerns should be lowered a lot with the veteran given his average level of play.
Mariota is coming off another top-12-level type of Week after scoring 18.7 FP against the Panthers last TNF. He threw 30 passes completing 19 of them for 186 yards and a couple of TDs against just one interception.
Highlighting what I said in the first paragraph, that outcome came after a match in W9 in which he completed 12 passes for 129 yards without touchdowns nor interceptions for a paltry 7.6 FP...
Mariota showed some rushing upside early this season scoring touchdowns in W3 and W6 but has yet to cross the goalline once more since then. The rushing yardage has at least stayed put with at least 24 yards in all last six games and an actual average of 35 yards per game on 6+ scrambles. He also seems to be more confident and trustable in securing the ball, with no fumbles in three consecutive games (one in the last five) compared to seven in the first five weeks.
On average, Mariota is completing almost 15-of-25 passes per week while racing around 175 yards and 1+ TDs. That's not horrible for those streaming the position throughout the bye weeks or stuck in deep/2QB/Superflex formats and hunting for value plays.
