Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota looks doubtful to play in Week 7 against the Atlanta Falcons. Mariota suffered a controversial hit to his knee in Week 6 against the Miami Dolphins. He was diagnosed with a sprained MCL.
Although the Titans are not ruling Mariota out quite yet, it sounds like Zack Mettenberger will get the start. Considering Mariota is a rookie and his current injury will not require surgery, the last thing the Titans want to do is risk further injury that could hamper his progress down the line.
I expect Mettenberger to perform OK against the Falcons, but not good enough for you to pick up off of the waiver wire and insert into your starting lineup. If you need a Week 7 QB, I like Kirk Cousins (vs. Bucs) and Teddy Bridgewater (vs. Lions).
