ANALYSIS: We might start thinking about Malik Beasley as a macrowave more than a microwave, ifyouknowwhatimsaying. Beasley keeps playing off the pine for the Jazz, keeps racking up shots in bunches, and most importantly, keeps hitting them with a very strong passion.
Beasley, who is still available in more than half of all ESPN waiver wires, has failed to score 17+ points just once in his last nine games getting back to Dec. 7. Yes, that's nearly three weeks of games for Beasley scoring not only in double-digits nightly, but also doing so at the pace of stars such as Fred VanVleet, Andrew Wiggins, or CJ McCollum. Just to name a few.
Over the full season (35 games for Beasley), the shooting guard is hitting 3.3 3PM per game. Only 11 players are currently matching that figure and all of them are playing 30+ MPG to reach those numbers. Beasley's 14+ PPG and 3+ RPG with 3+ 3PM per game are within the reach of only 13 other players in the NBA.
There is not a lot of upside on Beasley's resume outside of points, three-pointers, and shooting percentages (from the floor and beyond the arc exclusively, because he attempts virtually no freebies at all).
Beasley has strung 29 consecutive games hitting at least one three-point shot. The last time he didn't, we had not even reached November.
