Malcolm Brown (RB, LAR) - Week 11 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: If you don't have any idea about what the Rams are doing with their backfield... welcome to the club! These are the rushing leaders (attempts) for the team this season, week by week: Macolm Brown, Darrell Henderson Jr., Henderson, Brown, Henderson, Henderson, Henderson, Brown, Cam Akers (!). The same has happened with the volume of targets, alternating mostly between Henderson and Brown weekly.

With Akers more of an afterthought than not, Brown has been featured in 100 more snaps through Week 10 and he's held the RB1 role through the year. That doesn't mean he's out-scored Henderson in fantasy leagues, though. Henderson got more PPR points in Weeks 2, 3, 5, and 6, while Brown edged him in Week 1, 4, 7, 8 and 10. Henderson has 102.3 PPR points on the year to Brown's 90.3.

Brown, though, has scored more touchdowns than Henderson on the ground while carrying the ball almost 20 fewer times and is the pass-catching back of the two (16 to 11 receptions on 23 to 16 targets). This past weekend it was Brown's day to shine as he finished with 19.1 fantasy points translated from a very complete 6 carries-33 yards-2 TDs line on the ground and a nice 2 targets-2 receptions-18 yards line receiving.

It is hard to project Brown or Henderson weekly, but their floors should be at around 8+ fantasy points with upside to enter the 20+ PPR realm if everything clicks for any of them. Brown is the one being used more, so it makes sense to go with him in deeper leagues, as he's rostered in just one of each four Yahoo! competitions.

If you're not comfortable with the committee or don't like the upcoming matchups (fifth and fourth-best defenses against fantasy RBs) feel free to pass on him.
