ANALYSIS: New York Jets wide receiver Malachi Corley was a third-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Corley is a do-it-all receiver with game-changing abilities in the run game. The former Western Kentucky star had some impressive plays during training camp, earning praise and trust from Aaron Rodgers.

While the rookie is a talented wide receiver, fantasy players shouldn’t expect much from him in 2024, especially early in the season. The Jets have two elite weapons, Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall. Furthermore, Mike Williams, Allen Lazard, and Xavier Gipson are solid veterans ahead of Corley on the depth chart.
Meanwhile, today’s matchup against the San Francisco 49ers is far from ideal for the rookie or any New York wide receivers. The 49ers had an impressive defense last season. Furthermore, Rodgers is coming off a torn Achilles at 40-years-old. There is no reason to play Corley in any fantasy format this week.

The wide receiver position has an advantage over the running back position in PPR scoring formats, typically.
