ANALYSIS: The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Thursday that they had put both TE Darren Waller and WR2 Hunter Renfrow on the Injured Reserve. That means that both players will be forced to remain out of the gameday roster for at least four weeks. The Raiders have already gone through their bye week, so that means no Waller or Renfrow will grace a football gridiron for the next month.
That also means that WR2/WR3 Mack Hollins automatically gets the WR2 role all for himself and without any roadblock ahead with Renfrow out of contention. Renfrow had already missed two games in prior weeks but he had appeared in all three after Las Vegas' bye week.
Mack Hollins is the Raiders' WR2 to date having the second-most PPR points (80) over the first nine weeks of play way above Renfrow's total tally of just 36.2. Hollins has the second-most targets among Raiders WRs, though he's got almost barely half those of Davante Adams (43 to 85).
Hollins is now the clear-cut WR2 of the team. He has scored at least 12.4+ PPR points in two of the past three games, all after the bye week, and he should bounce back from his W9 stinker (3.7 PPR to the tune of a 4/2/17 receiving line) with Renfrow and Waller out of the squad.
The Raiders wideout has finished three weeks as a top-40 WR in fantasy slates including his W3 top-2 finish with 30.0 PPR points thanks to a career day in which he caught 8-of-10 targets for 158 yards and a receiving touchdown.
Don't expect that type of production, obviously, but consider Hollins a legitimate WR2 for the next month until the Raiders get all of their main offensive weapons back. This team has turned into a Josh Jacobs-led one, though, so temper your expectations a bit more on top of everything.
