ANALYSIS: Luis Garcia Jr. has been a consistent source of fantasy production all season, slashing .321/.374/.491 with a .380 wOBA and 147 wRC+. The 23-year-old has nine doubles, three home runs, 20 RBI, eight runs scored, and seven stolen bases. Hitting safely in 23 of the 27 games he has started shows how consistent he's been, but he's turned it on even more recently, going 8-for-17 (.471) with two HR, nine RBI, four runs scored, two stolen bases, and a 4:3 BB:K over his last five games.

After posting a strong 84.9% Contact% in 2023 over 122 games, Garcia has a solid 80.9% Contact% so far in 2024, and while his K% has increased to 18.3% from 12.4%, it's still well below league average (22.4%). With a career Barrel% of 6.5%, however, his 11.8% Barrel% so far seems unsustainable, although he is still young so perhaps growing into his power. A BABIP of .378 also seems unsustainable, so the .321 batting average will likely come down.
Nevertheless, with the strong contact and strikeout rates, he should remain a relevant fantasy asset. The left-handed hitter is well on his way to eclipsing the career-high nine stolen bases he tallied last season, making him all that more appealing. Managers in need of average, RBI, and stolen bases should consider adding the second baseman, who is still available in 56% of Yahoo leagues.
